Get those Tach Race entries in!!
Come on folks, don't leave me hanging here )-:
After a fantastic response last year I though it would be great to get involved in the tach race this time and have gone to the trouble of sending two engines half way around the world for it. It can be a stressful time having your engines so far away in someone else's care so I hope all the worry is worth my while and there is actually some sort of competition.
So come on! Send in some more entries & give my Aussie Bees someone to play with. Kim has also gone to all the trouble of setting up ready to host the race so it would be a real let-down if it ended up being a flop.
Please let us know your plans. Unfortunately there don't seem to be too many indications of engines being on their way so far.

Re: Tach Race 2014 !!!!!!!!!
I'll be competing. I don't have the time to make new engines which is what I wanted to do. I probably will just add a few things to see if I can make last years ones a little quicker.
I pulled them out yesterday and I couldn't keep them running last night.

Too dang cold to tune a needle in this weather we're having. I'm gonna do the same and just send mine in. I better do that this week.

I thought heat rises! Hovered around 15F all day today. Earlier last week it was -15F. I guess you could call this a heat wave.

Were you going to send us your shipping address or can someone else help out in case Kim does not catch this post in time?
Also, how many categories are there? ... too busy to peruse the whole post lol.

Re: Tach Race 2014 !!!!!!!!!
Hi Jason,
Good looking engines, I think the .020's will be interesting, I put together a stocker, ie. a mouser, but never tached it. I don't think we'll see that much of a bump between a strong stock engine and a warmed up mouse, however your unlimited looks like it might do something!

Re: Tach Race 2014 !!!!!!!!!
I know my 2 engines don't look anything special & I'm expecting the change of climate to throw them off a bit. (105°F here again today). The Golden Bee is just stock (no novice class this year unfortunately) & the only preparation was to clean it, fit a new venturi o-ring and make sure it runs. Came with a bunch of engines I bought out of Hawaii. I think my "unlimited" will actually be pretty limited. I just threw some engine parts together and packed it off to Kim. Could probably go in mouse class but I can't enter 2 in one class. The only "performance" mod was fitting a P-40 cylinder with Tee Dee head. I did it all in a rush in my eagerness to make sure they made their world tour on time. The engines were still warm when I packed them for the trip. I don't hold any high hopes but it's all good fun.

I didn't do any thing special with the .020 mouse engine. Just picked one out of the pile.
However the .049 mouse engine was modified. Hopefully the piston stays "glued together"
