Don't forget to add the LED countdown display that beeps faster and faster as it gets closer to zero...
and a warning sign that reads..."DANGER 10,000 OHMS"

I read about FF in the model mags but have never seen the competition level models in action
I've always thought those guys were nuts.....
OTOH it would be great fun to meet out in the middle of the desert and see this sport being flown by the experts.

I haven’t either TD, I think they pretty much evolved into rockets with very short engine run and super efficient glide….When I was about 16 yo I got a Goldberg 1/2A Blazer and installed a Babe Bee….. Knew nothing about trimming but dumb lucked out and flew it several times on a full tank of fuel…. No rocket climb but just kind of lazy went up to very high…. Lots of big open cotton fields to chase it across…. Nice memories…

Re: Free Flight Radio Assist
Robert, looks good thus far, you have mastered the art of tissue finishes over balsa, a real head turner. Being a lightweight finish, it should be a spiffy good micro flyer.

Re: Free Flight Radio Assist
Thanks fellas, Nothing special about the materials, Just cheap and easy to repair
I got the idea for the trim scheme from Ken Willard’s Pageboy article…. Similar to the plane behind him in the photo….. I trimmed my own PB more like the one in front of him….Sort of a tribute I guess…. His designs have always performed well for me….

What a beautiful job Roberto, it really takes you back to its time.
I really like the quality of the finishes and the way it is decorated. Without a doubt, a magnificent job. Congratulations!

Looks really good, Robert, very nicely done, for sure, it will be a winning flyer, lightweight, easy to see in flight and on the ground. In fact, would make a nice indoor flyer in an aircraft hangar or school gymnasium.

Re: Free Flight Radio Assist
Thanks George …. Absolutely would make a good electric park flyer with a few small changes… In fact, the receiver I’m using has a 2 amp speed control built in….This version though is set to be castor gooed….
Yes, Those colors are great for visual in the air, Especially when the plane is small already…And sometimes helpful finding them on the ground

Thanks Eric, ….. Yes, The rudder and stabilizer trim hinges will be sewn on this one…. They’re very free moving….Paper trims work OK for me…. Just something I happen to like to work with
