TACH RACE 2014 - Stock/Novice Class
I'd like some imput on Stock/Novice Class for next year.
I'm thinking for next year totally stock, no mods period, and run only one or two engines: Babe Bees or Sure Starts, or both?
What do you guys think?

The later babe bees have 2 transfer ports and will have a slight advangage. Maybe a Vintage class with 56' and earler engines can participate?

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I was pretty sure most of my Babes were dual ported, but I kept reading otherwise.Jason_WI wrote:The later babe bees have 2 transfer ports and will have a slight advantage. Maybe a Vintage class with 56' and earlier engines can participate?

Re: TACH RACE 2014 - Stock/Novice Class
I have several single transfer port dual exhaust cylinders. They run pretty good. For fun flying I don't notice a lot of difference to dual transfer ports without boost ports.
I haven't flown my venom ported engine, as Kim has it right now. I also haven't flown several engines on the same plane to have direct comparison.

I guess I was referring to the o'l single port Babe Bee circa 1956 to late 70's, or whenever they went to a dual port config? My engine history/knowledge stop about then.
Does anyone know how these engines stack up to the late model Sure Start?
