the sky cruiser I have has a 2 position switch for the battery. "power on" and "battery charge". if the wiring inside the plane is correct the battery charge connections, + and - should go to the 2 terminals of the small connector when in the "charge position".
I am converting my planes to RC and they are still in pieces, so tomorrow I will try to find the small battery/charge PCB and post a picture here with wiring info. if you are able to remove the wing, usually, 2 screws, you should be able to see the wiring.
how are you charging the internal battery? the box came with a battery charger box which holds 2 D cells in series and connected to the PCB on the side of the plane. you can send me a PM, private message, if you want or I will post the answers/pictures I find here.  happydad Small Cox Logo

you must have a newer version of the sky cruiser. the original cox sky cruisers were charge and freeflight only. no RC. enjoy. happydad. Small Cox Logo
