It's the X Wing that has a canard
To a novice like me it's a revelation, I get them confused. Someone crafted some pretty out-there designs with these StarWars creations. Can someone say - Drag! It must be fun to fly and compare the various models in flight like 1975 CLG.
Second "open Box" X Wing arrived partically assembled. PO even attached the control handle but went no further. It took awhile to unravel it. It's complete, but at first I thought it was missing the cockpit, it takes the decals to define it.
I will finish assembling and decal this one.
Do I hear roddies wheels turning............. X Wing, perhaps a bridge to far........

Here's the thing Robert.... It's easier for me to understand the dynamics involved with "pulling" an object through the air.. as opposed to pushing it. The Naboo Fighter will challenge me enough thank you..

You and me too roddie, I would not even think about trying to duplicate it.
I keep looking for parts that might be missing, then I find they are there after-all. But now I'm pretty sure one of the round cylinders behind the four engines? is missing. I will have to rob one out of the other kit. The wings have camber. I'm looking forward to see where the CG lays.
I found one in the little included brochure that I did not know existed. Darth Vaders Tie fighter.
Edit: Kicking around ebay I found these Hot Wheels. Nicely done

I'm happy to be of help.
Wow, you have a boxfull of alligators there. Eager to see what you come up with. Cox recommends a "Display" model with all the stuff, and a "Flying" model without it. Whole lot less drag, but I would be tempted.................
I scanned the decals in case I want to transfer them to water-slide or vinyl.

Done mostly. Plans say not to fly it with the extras attached. More like You can't fly it with the parts attached.
A heavyweight at 13.81 oz. all up. It might have found a home but I'm thinking about hanging it. I removed about a yard of packing tape from the box. PO's went wild with the stuff. Wierd, but I like it.
There are nickle/dime sized weights in one of the packing envelopes but the plans don't mention them.
Fuel options - half or full ports.

X Wing flying
The COX X Wing with all of its decorations makes an outstanding display model. But yes the X Wing needs to have all the display stuff removed to fly. My boneyard box was from crash victim parts only purchases (except for one) from eBay. My last flight and crash was where the plane started to drop fast from about 7 feet and even with full up it just dropped out of the sky with distasterous results. My theory is the elevator jammed and that sealed the plane's fate. Judging from the parts only box I am not the only one. The elevator doesn't move smoothly, and I will address this issue on my Phoenix X Wing project.
