Tatone EM-7
Questions have been asked before in regards to this muffler. I have my own questions such as what cylinder was used for this muffler? It doesn't fit a Sure Start, It doesn't fit a thin wall, it best fits a mid 70's stepped wall cylinder in my opinion. However, when split, there seems to be a difference in wall thickness of the halves, It seems to me that it can only be orientated in one direction which is screws to the front. This muffler doesn't seem to fit a integral tanked bee with the larger tank ( Black Widow, Golden Bee). I suppose it would be better worded if I said it fits with the exception of fitting tight to the cylinder. I haven't tried it on a Babe Bee . If someone has used this, having a picture would be nice. I know this is going to reduce power but I'm willing to try. My cylinder of choice is non spi as I'm fully aware of the consequences of using spi.

Re: Tatone EM-7
Ken, I don't have a photo of it mounted but have the muffler still hiding in one my boxes in storage.
Back in 1973, I put one on my Babe Bee that powered my Sterling Beginners C/L Fokker E-III Eindecker profile, but it robbed so much power that I only flew a couple flights with it, and shortly after not use it again.
Can't recall specifically but I think the directions on the packaging suggested filing the portion in contact with the tank so it would fit. One side or both sides on the bottom of the muffler have a slight scallop to clear the bulbous portion of the front of the tank.
It fit my 1972 Babe Bee perfectly and can't recall if they had different versions for other year cylinders or not.
I believe it was the recirculation of the exhaust gases into the SPI slot that diluted the fuel charge, reducing power.
If it doesn't fit your current cylinders, the only option may be Matt or Bernie's muffler system.

Re: Tatone EM-7
I have a photo of the Tatone "piece pipe" muffler on my Kustom Kraftsmanship engine.
Also, Photos of the two different Tatone mufflers:
The EM-07 muffler for 049/.051 Tee Dee / Medallion / Baby Bee / Golden Bee:
The Tatone "piece pipe" muffler for 049/051 Tee Dee engines:
The EM-07 muffler has two indentations on the "bottom" part of the muffler.
Those indentations are for clearance for the Bee's fuel tank. and on the Tee Dee engines that indentation just clears the venturi locking nut.
You might have to do a little extra filing to make those indentations clear the fuel tank as the muffler was sand casted.
I couldn't find my Golden Bee with that muffler attached but it does fit with a little extra work.
