Please forgive my ignorance, but what is the deal on this vemon motor. Is it super rare? Are they worth $10s, $100s, $1,000s if one is found? I may want to try "cloneing" one of these puppys myself if there is enough money involved. I've not seen this much hub bub on any subject since being in this forum.

IMO it is a real venom where the drive-plate was changed at some point.

New they run around $400, used really depends on condition but about $150 - $200 for a decent one.

As to cloning one yourself, we can save you the trouble, see here:

http://coxengines.ca/cox-.049-engine-venom-ii.html

which is basically less than the sum of parts.

A nib venom will usually pull over $400 a used one around $250 but it depends on timing etc.

Thanks for the info. I have see this type thing in my "classic" car hobby. A "correct numbered" car is worth much more than a "tribute" or "clone". I now see the point of this discussion as to if this engine is "real" or "fake".

Yeah, we get that, I think most of us have already agreed on it. I've seen it written several times now.
We're just hashing out the possibilities about how it got like that. It's the kind of thing that we find interesting.
