Cox Engine of The Month
Fox 049, 07, 09 Parts Identification

Fox 049, 07, 09 Parts Identification
Below is a list of all parts we will be offering for sale relating to the purchase of the FAI 049 parts. I have inventoried most of the parts with the exception of needle valves, springs, and tanks. In addition to the parts that will be listed for sale we wish to ensure correct fitment is noted on a particular item description. This is an attempt based on my research and please update / note additional engines a particular part may fit.
You will also see the pictures below of five driveplates. The first (L to R) is the Standard 049 Driveplate for the 1962 model, second Standard driveplate for the early 07 model, third FAI 049 Driveplate for reference and the next two are larger which I believe were used on the Fox 09 engine. The OD on the driveplate is 0.615" and thickness of 0.112". I have a handful that are gold anodized - not sure what these were from but the anodizing looks to be factory.
Thanks, Matt

The 2 larger drivers are definitely for the .09, Hustler, and .10.

Thanks! Any idea if the anodized ones were for a particular engine?
Re: Fox 049, 07, 09 Parts Identification

Mike, the plugs do interchange between the .049 and .07.

Fox 049/07/09 parts
The Fox 09 and Hustler 10/Fox 10 shared a lot of parts including piston/cylinders/rods, crankshafts, prop driver and some backplates -whilst the glowheads interchange but are visually different. AFAIK the 10 NVA was from the 07.

Thanks Ken . I have a nice pair of .07's that would make a nice twin . Thinking either sell them or build a P 38 for them . The old Comet kit would be a good size for them . Thanks for the reply ...

Thanks, that was kind of my thought. We have 146 of the regular ones and I think 6 of the gold ones. Will be listing for sale soon.

Engines and some parts are now available!

Cylinders/Pistons for the FAI are forthcoming as well as some other odds and ends, but need to be properly stocked.

Well done Matt. Good to see you helping to resurrect these engines. I hope it turns out to be a worthwhile exercise for you.
