Hi All,
Thanks for this great forum
My next 1/2A project build/design will be electric,
So, I am naming it, 'Masquerade'.
(I miss firing up Cox Engines !)
Found this Song,
The piano at 5min suits my flying style...
I want some mandolin added, it is my 'nitro' !
Check out George Benson, Masquerade:

Take Care,
Have Fun,
Dave
P.S. Fun Fact
This song was released in 1976,
Heyday of Cox flying here...

Hi All,
I am in the middle of a 'microwave steam bending wood' experiment.
Looking real good.
I am taking pictures, with hopes to post here.
Anyways,
Traditional boat building took hours/days to bend wood, just to make the steam.
I found this song:

Hi roddie,
That song was played here on AM radio,
Hey Day of Cox Era...
There were line ups, to buy at, 'Record stores',
Hobby Shops had lineups too...
Quarter sawn white Oak is done already.
Lesser woods are on the menu...
I am having fun.
Four AAA batteries in my Sony Walkman, radio reception is still good.
I am listening to this:

I'm not sure of the relevance Dave, heck of a name for a music group maybe............
But, I just had this pine sawn up yesterday at a local saw mill to finish the cabins West wall. Covers the green finished OSB board to match. Old gent fired up a gasoline engine and rode a chair along a rail as a band saw cut it horizontally right next to him. 15 1X10's out of the same log.
I still love this cabin picture, a PO leave-behind. He left all the stereo equipment too. Music is a major part of the cabins heritage.

Hi rsv1cox,
Nice lumber !
You might have two pieces of 'quarter sawn' out of that pile...
Flat grain vs Edge grain is another way to describe cut wood.
Also, A, B, C grains of wood are a thing to google.
My project fits in a microwave oven.
Some how, I have pictures that I can be able to post here.
Hurdles, this Luddite wants to climb over !
And, I am determined, and stubborn,
And have split allot of firewood too.
Enjoy this Canadian classic video:

Bob, minor typo correction made.
I loved their number Waterloo, but felt the timing for this one is good.
Speaking of being young, watching how these Cox Engine of the Month Contests have proceeded with the ultimate winner of the prized Ex Model Engine high performance reedie takes all for a moment in glory, reminded me of this song going back 44 years ago with a favored band, ABBA:crankbndr wrote:Spun a lot of CCR in my day!! ABBA, George - My wife loved them. They along with Fleetwood Max had "The sound." But Glenn Miller started it.

Well, well...........this little girl has you-tubed about every lament song that I have ever heard. I'm a player, as I love the piano especially hard rocking piano intros.

I've probably posted this before, but it's a cloudy, dark afternoon here in Missouri, and this song seems to fit:
