Found it lurking in my display case so why not join the clean-up crowd.

Not too nasty, but with a surprise.

Cleaned up well with just a slight buffing.

Dannels/Sitter says it's a 350-6 Silver Bee product engine used in the Spitfire and discontinued in 1968.

First one I have found with a "W" element glow plug. Looks like a PO also added a gasket.

Wow, what a great clean up. How did you get the backplate to that “ looks like new” finish? Babe Bee .049

Smile The secrets in the sauce.

Or the paint spray can.

I had always wanted to try it and when I did I was surprised how well it turned out. Not that far from the factory finish. Not sure how fuel proof it will be, but I'm tempted to clear coat it with Top Flights Lustrekote if I run it.

Looks great, i used to use a red sharpie on aluminum heads, sprayed with clear to repair/redo anodized aluminum.

Dang, that looks too good. Yup, a fuel proof topcoat will be required if you are gonna run it.  Otherwise, put in in the display case under bright lights and admire the shine!

Note to self: local craft store has sale on paint spray cans at $1 each.
Go to store.

Ps: I spent $20 at your Chinese ebay web site, thought I’d stock up before they put tariffs on all that good stuff. I bought the mesh pencil holder plus a bunch of 1 or $2 items. The most expensive item was this:

lol!

Good looking Silver Bee restoration, Kim. My 1965 Christmas present, a Cox Spitfire RTF had one of those engines. Had the donor engine for a long time, then got lost in a move.

Another great job well done! Thanks for sharing with us, as well as the tips of painting the backplate.
