Howard, I'm surprised that no one responded to your post of 2 weeks ago. Thanks for the instructions sheet. Looking forward to photos as you get a chance to work on it.

Yes.. Oftentimes there's many different or new threads, which can cause someone's unanswered post to disappear from the queue until it gets a reply. I for one; am not in the habit of checking either of the "view unanswered posts" or "view posts since last visit" options. Unfortunately there's been a lot of content that I've missed because of this.
Re: Cox Rivets OWNERS FLIGHT MANUAL
All good!
She cleaned up very nicely!
Hard to believe... over 50 years old!
The motor looks new from the outside, but the "star shaped" copper reed is badly oxidised & "blackened", and crumbled to bits. Made a new one from a floppy disk.
Other than that, seems to be in perfect condition, probably only run once or twice.
My all time favorites, side by side!
The box is quite beat up, but, I'll spend some time on it...
before/after pics to follow....

Re: Cox Rivets OWNERS FLIGHT MANUAL
Wow! Howard, Rivets is a beaut, looks just like off the catalogue showroom. You did a good job in cleaning it up.
Love the detail, how Cox concealed the .049 almost completely in the right cheek cowl, and the pilot detail.
The later Coxes to reduce cost simplified and lost these details. The contrast between the molded red and yellow really stand out.
Are decals original or reproduction?

Re: Cox Rivets OWNERS FLIGHT MANUAL
You have a very keen eye!
I've had to re-create the white "92" decals as they flaked off during cleaning
I cut the "9" and "2" out by hand (and you spotted the slight scale difference!) but have ordered a full set from a local digital printing shop.
Attached is a printable file that I've created (by accurately measuring the originals) as the templates for the decals.
(dimensions are in milimeters)
