No I didn't win them, but I thought seriously about bidding in the last minute thinking it a good deal.
Not exactly my kind of models. I look for crashed airplanes, something that I can rebuild.

Re: Not bad, two for one plus a Silver Bee?
The Combat Kitten was a well engineered kit, unlike it's big brother the Combat Cat. The Cat had a notch in the leading edge that would decide to fail when pulling hard maneuvers. Every manufacturer was always competing for price and bragging rights. To do this, they would design the wings for simplicity, be it less ribs or simplicity of assembly. Top Flite used the over and under spar. Notches were placed on top and coming up from the bottom alternating which allowed the ribs to slide into them. While this quickly would speed assembly, it also once glued can dial in a non removable twist into the wing. I've built at least a dozen or more Flite Streaks and several Combat kittens having only one Kitten left from a twin pack.
When one sees what appears to be a bargain, it can turn out to be a piece of scrap. The fits of Top Flite die cutting was relatively tight. Therefore, when slid together, one was committed to whether or not the rib was pointing up or down. Many times, the spar or rib required a slight elongation of the dado to allow for some wiggle adjustment. Repairing something like this requires skillful breaking of the glue joints which ultimately breaks other things.
