OTM 1.5cc Diesel

OTM 1.5cc Diesel
Another Russian engine. I don't know much about this one either but it is well made. It has never been run.

It's an OTM Stryz (Swift) 1.5 c.c.

OTM engine
One of a series of three sizes to the same design-0.8cc 1.5cc and 2.5cc-the 0.8cc being known as the 'Kolibri' and the 2.5 as the 'Sokol'....imported into the UK in the late 70s/early 80s by 'The Modellers Den'....and still to be found on Ebay from time to time. Usually (but not exclusively) found with black anodised fins, prop driver and spinner-though the 2.5 turns up from time to time with copper-ish coloured anodised parts. I suspect the latter stayed in production longer-or possibly was produced by more than one USSR manufacturer...

OTM Kolibri
The Webra Piccolo
Two Sokols. One is "pristine and un run" the other (with the replacement unadonised spinner) is used.
Although these are both tight and look well made - there is an odd finish applied to the crankcase. It is flaking away on both engines.
The finish reminds me of a new galvanised bucket!
The Kolibri and the Swift (thank you for the name) are pristine.

Re: OTM 1.5cc Diesel
Just picked up the 2.5cc version along with a Taplin twin a few weeks ago . The date on the instructions was 1974 on the OTM and it is done up in black . I'll see if I can post a picture in a day or two .
