Hey Buddy! Nice looking engine! I don't know how I missed your geographic location. You and I pretty much actively represent CEF here in Eastern New England. I live about 20 mi. from Seekonk, MA. Welcome to the forum! Thumbs Up

the crank is very thick in diameter and the regular babe bee looks very slim compared to mine, are they the same size. If not were can i find a crank that i can mount a prop to it? Babe Bee .049

The car cranks are larger diameter, so a standard crank won't fit in that crankcase. The car crank just has a taper on the nose rather than the splines for a prop driver, so you have to manufacture a suitable prop driver yourself as I've not been able to come up with an "off the shelf" solution. I would think the car crankcase assembly would be a good choice for converting to diesel because it is a stronger crank.

Not to contradict you Rod, maybe they didn't make their way
down under, but there was a car crank with a large splined end.
They were in the funny cars and dragsters.

I think the trike had a pull starter, and that crank end was indeed tapered(I think).

Bob, I have several car engines and have only ever seen the taper nose cranks. That's not to say the splined ones never made it to OZ, but I haven't heard of them before now.

My uncle had his sitting for who knows how long and i cleaned the engine and this has the splined shaft it has the bigger (in diameter) crank than the regular splined babe bee crank
