It pains me not to be able to vote for several. But one, I thought, was outstanding and unique. Unique swung my vote.

Yay winner winner chicken dinner.
Thank you Jacob and admins who work at keeping this site running. We are all lucky to have such a great place to discuss Cox products and to those who frequent here to support it.
Thank you to those who voted on this perfect size and weight RC engine set up for small pond use.
Regards,
Brad

Congratulations Brad. A very deserving winner.
That engine is different, modified, immaculate and cool looking. It just ticks all the boxes.
Only fault I could find is that it's not in MY cabinet

That is the exact same problem I had with it as well!

Yes I have some more updated photos and mods / information towards the build:
- Pressure tap for finer max needle settings when the outrigger hydro is bouncing
- Bored out the stock muffler for min loss
- Water cooled the engine for no sag
- Phenolic thrust washer to increases rpm under load
- Vibration mounting to reduce rpm loss
- Replaced the needle valve for a Harry Higley fine threaded NV.
I took a Octura 1427 and reshaped de-tounged / reduced to 1424 for more rpm.
I am using oilite bushings in the stuffing box or for non boaters the drive line tube.
3/4oz wedge tank shown
Here is a rendering for the rigger design based on another outrigger I built for a brushless outrunner.
Here is the inspiration for the build my brushless version. The 1/2A rigger will be cut out of a 12 x 24in sheet of 1/32 birch plywood:

That's a nice project Brad, How fast do you think it will go? Will you be using the wedge tank, mounted on its side maybe? Or will it be a tethered boat?

Re: **VOTE-ON-THE-NEXT-COX-ENGINE-OF-THE-MONTH** (October 2014)
Thank you guys!!
The brushless outrunner motor is only 8g weight puts out about (40w to the prop 20mm) The IC engine is massive weight in comparison to watts out to the prop 24mm more blade area and pitch.
I have built and ran 1/2A hydro's in the past. They can perform rather well over 24k at the prop under load. I expect 26mph + Back in the day I have used .049s to QB .074.
Massive reduction in hull weight with todays building style and RC equipment is much lighter / smaller. It is possible to exceed 30 mph. Prop to sponson tip will be around 22in. Weight should be sub 7.5oz.
The engine as shown is 3.28 oz.
The wedge tank will have the bottom tube removed the lower tube at the wedge will feed the engine and the top tube to fill and to run the mufflers pressure line. May opt out for a clear 1oz round tank if the design allows a visual peek at the tank during shore line passes to see how much run time is left. I have everything I need to start the build now and will post pics / vid once I start.
