Although this topic has fallen off the page, it is my belief that it should be continued due to it's relevance to contemporay American and world affairs.
The journalist Thomas Sowell has as assembled a variety of pictures comparing the "Oppuy" protests with those of the Tea Party. The comparison is remarkable, not in their similarity but their differences. "Occupy" protestors are disruptive, dirty and disorganized focused on themselves. Nowhere in the pictures is a US flag to be seen.
Tea Party protests are mannerly, focused, have specific objectives and are openly patriotic.
Which faction will prevail over time and why?
(Care to speculate about "Occupy" protest on "Black Friday"?)

They have come back, apparently they had enough respect for the "tree lighting" and Thanksgiving.
The President gave a speech concerning thanksgiving, saying that the holiday was about "community". ??
It was (is) about the pilgrims, how they were starving, and how the Native Americans came to their aid. How they were saved, and especially how they gave THANKS to God for helping them in their most desperate time of need. Never, not even once, did he mention God. Praying was the majority of the pilgrim's lives, you can't just take it it out. He avoids it in the Deceleration of Independence also. It makes one wonder what kind of message he is trying to push across...

As to the protesters, only time will tell. I do not see what the occupiers are going to accomplish.

It`s hard to say what "Mr.President" has in mind or on his agenda...........I will leave it at that,it`s sort of off the subject,or a sub-topic perhaps.
Maybe if the protestors get organized and have a worthwile objective they may manage to do some good........if..........

It's now been several months since the "Occupy" protests began.
Now "Occuy" is taking over foreclosed properties and has cost the public treasury millions of dollars and for what end? And so it is a "headess" movement without shape, form or clear purposes unlike any other in America's history.
Meanwhile the Congress and the President sit passively awaiting further developments.
What will they be?

I believe that there are far more Americans that are proud of their country than the protestor's sentiment seems to recognize.
Those people are successful because they have worked to get where they are; they are the very essense of what makes a great ation. If we were to follow the apparent scheme of the "Occupy" protestors, everything would be "fair" and "equal" whether one achieved or not. What happen to the connection between "rights" and "responsibilities"?
And just what do these protestors have to offer in a great nation? The achievers are busy working and paying taxes rather than protesting. Which will build a stronger and more successful nation in our ever-changing world?
Sign me in as a Proud American!

Our Freedom of Speech means you can express your views/opinions without prosecution.
It does not mean you can abuse/camp state property and defy laws and legal regulations, while "expressing" your opinion.
These people either are uneducated, or they don't care or see it as an issue.

Occuyers use the same tired old whines without an definition.
Here in Washington State we have them in Olympia, our state capitol, too protesting a special session of hte State Legislature attempts to resolve an multi-billion dollar deficit problem. And, oh what a fracus has evoloved from the conflicting messages!
Protesters objecting to budget cuts and tax increases and cuts in social services.

in yuma....
in yuma the unemployment rate is hovering close to 30%, has been for a long time now.
there are 125,000 people living here. they had a 'occupy' rally on the corner of the busiest street in town.
fourteen people showed up.
if the nubmbers are even close to correct, there is 25,000 people without a job in yuma. so, what do we do?
i mow lawns. sometimes 5 bucks a pop. its bad, but still a profit.
i reinsulated my trailer. droped utility cost by 100.00 USD
my friend has a house he was trying to sell. now, he quit watering his grass, and uses only a window AC in one room. he drives a 3 cylinder justy. its a crappy car, but i envy it.
my grandmother makes quilts to sell. not real fast, but still a profit.
some grow their own food. the soil is real good.
a lot of people make food and sell it on the street.
we have 3 swatmeets in town.
i see not point in me complaining about it. i just focus on what i can do.
