cox spitfire
hello I just picked up another cox .049 spitfire .it is dark green with light green camo , it looks like the american version with the lettering on the side but I have never before seen one in this color nor can I find any listings on it. I have another spitfire just like it in dark green with black camo, I believe this to be the one made in greater numbers . does anyone know anything about this plane .I am sure they made a light green with black camo but I have never heard of or seen a dark green with light green camo. on the up side this plane is mint with none of the usual wing damage . looks like it has never been run but the box is beat. thanks for any help Roger

Re: cox spitfire
This was the most common version c. 1966-'69
Light green c. '64-'65
light blue re issue c. '79-'80
not real sure on Canadian version, early seventies?

Re: cox spitfire
That's where I am getting mixed up ,being Canadian the most common version up here is the dark green with black . What I purchased is the american version . Funny I have seen many pictures and I never noticed the american had different colored camo until seeing the planes side by side I thought the only difference was the lettering. I guess the only spit I am missing now would be the Light green one. thanks again Mark you area true asset to this hobby . cheers Roger
PS: pretty sure the Canadian version must have run from 70-78 I received mine in the mid seventies 74ish and I remember them being around before and after I received mine . It kind of makes sense because it's the only years missing in the production of the spitfire.

Re: cox spitfire
I can tell you as a Canadian a red pt19 was not a very common plane in my area of the woods . that's pretty cool
