Build your own Mini Metal Lathe

Build your own Mini Metal Lathe
I get emails with popular and award winning instructables every week or so and this was in it. This looks like it would sure be some work to build and unless you get half of the crap to make it for free, it may be a little bit costly. It looks like many people have built mini lathes if you search for it on there.

Re: Build your own Mini Metal Lathe
Maybe, we do have that AxMan surplus store that has a bunch of parts and crap from manufacturing plants. They have lots of motors, gears and more so if I can get the parts from there I might make one.

Wonder if I could do cranks on itAdmin wrote:Maybe, we do have that AxMan surplus store that has a bunch of parts and crap from manufacturing plants. They have lots of motors, gears and more so if I can get the parts from there I might make one.
If so then it may be worth while.

You could probably get away with doing the machining for the 'blank'. A mill would be easiest for the other operations though.
