Well it's Friday.... I need to know if I need to reschedule my reservations with the hotel...
Re: Revised Roll Call - "The Original Tach Race 2013"
I talked with Kim this morning and we are going to push the contest back to next weekend, Feb 2nd and actually have it at my house. There are 4 other guys besides on my list that their engines have not shown up yet.
Re: Revised Roll Call - "The Original Tach Race 2013"
I got Ron's today. Yes, l have had to postpone the race 'till next week. Sorry for the delay guys. It probably would have happened anyway as I managed to get myself a rapidly accelerating cold, and am fairly ill at the moment. I'm hoping it goes away as fast as it came, but it looks like Saturday at least is wiped out, with me staying in and trying to kick this.
Sotiris Reizis, a fellow from Greece, has an engine still on the way, with possibly a couple of others from members of the .049 Collectors Group.
Hope this is not too much of an inconvenience.

Let's hope it's just a cold Kim and not the flu. It took me 7 days to get through it and I am still not right.
At any rate hope you get well soon.

OK...as of this moment, here are the engines I have in my possession. There might be a couple of mistakes as I'm not really up to speed, so please bear with me. I will correct them if so. I'm just trying to use this extra time to get everything as together as possible.

Nope. I've decided that the terrorists have won.
When it costs me ~$80 return just to send a few Cox motors AND without insurance
(otherwise it costs even more with insurance) well... I'm just not going to play anymore.
I'm still kinda 'stinging' from a collectible engine recently sent to a Washington State
address that went missing recently.
Sure I got the money refunded (after 5 months), but how do you REPLACE a collectible
that's no longer made & not found on Ebay...? One very collectible Oliver Cub Fedexed
to England was charged ~$60 just for a "clearance charge". Not duty, not taxes. Yet other
things sent the same way have gone straight through...
I'm thinking "Wow, the one year there are lotsa prizes & I don't enter". Kudo's to the
prize givers though, sure is a nice touch! Actually, that's OK. Give somebody else a
chance I figure + the last thing I need is more Coxes, as I'm attempting to sell off some
of my HOARD. (Yes, I'm a hoarder apparently)
Anyways, it looks like quite a good field & I applaud the CD's delaying the event to allow even
more entries to arrive. That's indeed VERY SPORTING, & I like to see that. Good luck to you all,
as I'll be watching from the sidelines....

Re: Revised Roll Call - "The Original Tach Race 2013"
We'll miss you, Paul. Really, $5 bucks ought to get it there, in case you change your mind at the last minute. High competition makes us all better. My little Black Widow that I built using your guidelines still burns 20k while launching my Li'l KomBat. I would have entered it too but I thought I had run out of shipping time last week. Now I'm painting a friggin' bathroom, so it's still on the sidelines.
Take care,
Rusty
P.S I would like to buy one of your Tee Dees if you decide to thin them out.

I haven't gotten his entry yet. Could I have yours and your boys' entries and their classes? This gives me a good count on who is racing what.

Re: Revised Roll Call - "The Original Tach Race 2013"
Both boys have a BW for mouse, mainly racing against each other.
I've got my Killer Widow for unlimited
Still working on my wife's engine, should be good to go too. If not I may have the Patriot as a back-up for the mouse race.
Brandon has a product engine he wants to run also, along with his peewee.

Ok, so what your saying for example: You got a second (or third) really strong running mouser and you want to enter it as Billy Bob's engine and somehow it opens up and wins 2st by 300 rpm! Billy Bob wins, but had nothing to do with building engine and maybe the guy that actually built a engine and spent time breaking it in now got bump out of a top three spot by your 'second' engine.
When I first read your post I thought cool idea, we can send proxy engines in for other members, but then the more I thought about it, the more I realized the down side of it.
Ok, scratch that idea. I see your point and I never thought of that.
Re: Revised Roll Call - "The Original Tach Race 2013"
My wife's engine would be my mouse entry. Brandon's engines are his own. Logan's is just a fun run against his brother, just to include Logan in the fun, besides I've been wanting to build a Silver Widow

It should get there today or tomorrow.
Just to clarify, I have one SureStart .049 for the novice class, and one PeeWee for for the stock PeeWee class.

I'm not real mobile right now, and haven't had a chance to make a mail run. I'll post them as soon as I get them.

OK...I think I've got this down...You're entering in unlimited and mouse...your boys are both entering in mouse along with one in novice and one in .020? When will you know the status of your wife's engine vrs the Patriot? I don't think it would be fair to the other entrant to make tuning runs right up to time of the race.

That's fine, I won't enter a mouse. I haven't ran the patriot, been working on the wife's crazy engine... Logan's hasn't been run on the BW cylinder, but his is a fun run anyway. Brandon won't have a novice, since I've been hogging the engine mount.
