Date set for the Original "Tach Race 2013" !
OK...It's time to dust off those shelf-sitters or unbolt those runners from their mounts!
We're once again hosting Mark Boesen's "Tach Race" here in the wilds of Missouri!
We're once again hosting Mark Boesen's "Tach Race" here in the wilds of Missouri!
I've got Saturday and Sunday, January 26th and 27th, 2013 set aside for the date.
This year, I've got a partner to share in CD duties. Travis (WingingIt74) is gonna drive down from Waterloo, Illinois for the weekend to get in on the fun.
While I've got the following weekend set as a "Rain Date", there's not much chance that we'll need it, short of a schedule conflict. I'm a Lineman here at Cape Girardeau's airport, and my boss...somewhat amused by my various antics with these little engines...has consented to allow us use of the main hangar for Tach Race 2013. So, the weather will be much less of a factor, and the temperature swings through the day should also have less impact.
The rules are the same as last year's, along with the fuel and prop used. I'd like to get them all in by the middle of the week...say ...the 23rd or 24th...but will still throw them in the batch if I get them Friday. After their runs, the engines will be given a light dose of Bernie's Xena Lube, and lovingly repacked for their return journey home.
Shoot a note my way with any questions you might have. As before, I'll be in contact with Mr. Mark if we hit a snag.
Please E-Mail me for my snail-mail address. I'll be using my Post Office Box and Physical Address this year since I've also recruited my postman (a former co-worker from my diaper factory days) to keep a wary eye out for the engines and bring them up to my house rather than leave them in the mail box by the road.
I've also included a "Class Photo" from last year's race !!!!

Looking forward to it
I gotta dust off the Killer Widow and put it through it's paces.

Re: Date set for the Original "Tach Race 2013" !
Our Golden Bee II, Black Widow II, Venom II, etc, are they considered stock or mods?
Re: Date set for the Original "Tach Race 2013" !
I'm in for this round. I'll be dusting off my Mouse skills and tuning up for it.
