yes the engine compartment was fuel proofed with 3 light coats of lustrekote fuel proof paint. and i warned mitch the controls would be EXTREMELY touchy. most of my gliders and RC planes are 1 meter or less and they are touchy to fly. it helps to have adjustable dual rate radios. at 8inch wing span i suggested starting with low rate and having full rate handy in case of trouble.

Mitch: snap rolls are very possible on the first flight. so be very cautious with controls.
p.s. and i still recommend first flight without landing gear. happydad Small Cox Logo

i was in the middle of uploading a pic when the internet froze so i will have to start over.

Mitch: i tried to resist, but i couldn't. your avatar looks just like you. LOL. hope you don't take too much kidding. i hope you have a good first flight with the Gnat. looks like you have a lot to do this summer. i am still looking for plans/articles for the Rainbow-Bipe for the Cox .020. while looking for info for the Rainbow i ran across a bipe smaller than the Gnat. i will try again to upload a pic of the BitseeBee sitting atop a BabyBee bipe.

i haven't found too much information on either of the 2 bipes, but the bottom BabyBee is an .049 and the top BitseeBee is a .010.

sorry for such a late late late response HD, those planes look so cool, i love the look of the lazy bee planes. Well long story short, I still have not maidened the Gnat, It is sitting still in one piece on my book shelf in my room. One of these days I will fly it, I have been distracted with many projects, school and other things.

Jeremy and I have been talking about a Gnat... Have you flown it? How did it fly? I think it would be perfect for the CEF .010 Smile

But it does need to get airborne!
