HELP! Looking for a ARF R/C plane that uses a COX 049 or 020
I have been into nitro planes for years, flying mainly with .50cc+ sized engines. Found my Cox 049 and 020 laying around with some new 5 gram servos... Any planes out there that would be good for this sort of setup? - I was looking at the hobbyking mini stick below but even with my ARF experience, im still weary about kits.

Hello Deerej18 Your title says ARF kit but your looking at a Laser cut kit ? If you wanting to get into building kits the Mini stick would be good start should build easily for you and a few here have built this kit all you have to do is ask for some reference help. A Note it says 2.5 gram servos and you have 5 gram ones , that will cause some issues with weight and balance / this plane will bee pretty fast being it is 22.84 In. wing span . What ARF planes have you been flying ? Welcome to the CEF !

Re: HELP! Looking for a ARF R/C plane that uses a COX 049 or 020
I have built many many ARF's from greatplanes for my club members here in Michigan. Personally like the beast from hangar 9. I want a easy plane to build with a cox 020 because I'm trying to build a plane less than or equal to 250 grams

Most ARFs that are in a suitable size are usually made from foam. I think that it is much easier to find a kit or a drawing for a suitable plane in this size. The build is very fast anyway and it is a lot more fun to build them from scratch rather than trying to fix an ARF that was poorly glued together from the factory...
Here is a J3 cub (laser cut kit) that I "converted" to glow and diesel using a cox .020, total weight is around 125g;
