Tee Dee .051 New cylinder needed..Help!!
Hi people,
Does somebody know where I can buy a cylinder for my TD .051?
I went on cox international website and could not see one? I should really
buy Clyinder/Piston and Rod which you could buy Cat. No. 2045
Bernie, if you read this please let me know if you still have them in stock?
I purchased this .051 TD on ebay last year for $53.00 and it has slightly
over size mount holes. Dual bypass port cylinder with high compression
tee dee glow head which had no glow. The cylinder has burrs around the
port area where somebody tried to remove it with a screw driver or similar.
The inside of cylinder has been honed too much with sand paper to probably
get rid of the burrs. Yep, It`s probably ruined!! I have not attempted to
start it. I did check the ball socket fit of the piston and yes it had a lot
of play so I reset it with proper reset tool. Now it has the smallest amount
or no play and it swivels beautifully!
I hope you guys can help me with the cylinder I`m after.
Cheers! Mr G

Mr. G
First off welcome!
The .051 cylinders are not too common new and those who have them probably won't give them up anytime soon.
They do show up on Ebay now and then but, usually sell for more than a good used .051.
So, your best bet would be to find another used .051 and utilize the cylinder and keep the rest for spares.
You can remove burrs by scraping around the exhaust ports very carefully with a razor knife.

Best bet to get it up and running is to get one of Bernie's TD 049 cylinders and convert it to 049. The performance is the same unless you are entering in a class A event that requires 050 or higher.

Joe,
You should open an unobtanium Cox parts store. You seem to have all the parts everyone is looking for.

The Cox black market!
Yeah, if you want to make a website, you can do so easily with Google sites! In Google sites, you don't ever have to mess with HTML if you don't want to! Or you can just surprise people with the stuff when they make a wanted ad!
