in Scotland you can get battered deep fried snickers bars.
At the annual fair here, you can get just about anything deep fried. Snickers, Oreos, Reeses Cups, Coke-a-cola, Pepsi, it's crazy.
Same at our fair. They try to deep fry anything and put it on a stick. The deep fried Twinkie isn't too bad but it sure is a mess, the stick the put through it has absolutely no point since you couldn't even think about picking it up. Just about any candy bar you could think of is for sale deep fired at our fair. Deep fried pickles, deep fried pies (key lime, pumpkin, apple...), deep fried macaroni and cheese bites, deep fried gator, deep fried beer, deep fried cheeseburger, deep fried ice creme (was a HUGE mess).

yep, we amercians have to flaws:
we have to put chevy v8's on anything we can get our hands on, and we have to dunk everything in boiling oil.
i'm not sure if i should be proud or ashamed of this
(and YES, i am an american citizen.)

Note for anyone who is trying a corndog for the first time, Only buy one that they cook while you're standing in line. Never get one that was frozen first. They should be dipping them in the cornmeal batter and frying them as you wait. Put ketchup and mustard on it.
