Ditto here on the Chick Fil-A.
Our local KFC's are pretty filthy, with rough, dirty-looking people doing the cooking...

Yeah, it is really good when it's done right. Guess the owners here have gotten tired. There is a KFC an hour away that is keep very clean and nice.

Re: KFC or Chick Fil-A
it probably depends on the franchise. kfc just gives them the right to sell kfc products,
but how they mange their shop and which people they employ is left up to them, i think.
the restaurant managers, that is.

Some would say that both practice "cruelty to animals" as to the manner in which chickens are raised and prepared for market. (Do you realize the way they are slaughtered?)
To them I would make the statement: "You must be a vegan then." The response is quite predictable; usually a "huff" and quick rotation the the opposite direction.
KFC has combined with AW Root Beer here in the Pacific Northwest. Chic-filet has no market presence here.

Oh, beez, surely must you realize that the extremely kind-hearted superimpose human and feelings and emotions on animals.
Anyone who has ever observed chicken behavior knows they are not "humans with feathers". Watch what happens in a chicken incubator when a sickly chick is hatched.
It ain't pretty OR kind.
The life of animals in the wild is no prettier.

That is the beat fast food joint I know of by a country mile.

Re: KFC or Chick Fil-A
I would have to choose none of the above. Although I could eat at either, our KFC is dirty inside and the employees are not the nicest. Our only Chick fil a is in a bad part of town and the clientele is not the greatest. We only have 1 popeyes as well and it is in a bad part of town plus they never honor their national deals. The chicken from our local cub foods deli is really good.

oh, ilove popeye's.
but yeah, i've seen some fast food franchises in the usa which ARE really dirty. like i said before, i think it depends on
the guy who runs the place.

Yeah...there's no one standard...it's always gonna depend on the commitment of the owners.
And...we tend to have lots of fun with the P.E.T.A. types here. Even sheltered idiots have enough self-preservation programing to keep them from throwing animal blood (real or fake) on guys who practice with their rifles by exploding prairie dogs at 400 yards. The gratitude of any American Rancher always holds a lot more sway than insults from the fruit-bat squad !

I said nandos because here all other cheap chicken shops are vile.
The standard her is pretty bloody low anyone who has been to one in London will agree.
Re: KFC or Chick Fil-A
You critics of fast-food outlets AMAZE me! In a free-market economy, the consumer is free to make choices and those choices tend do favor well-run operations rather than the solvenly.
So what's you complaint?

nitro:
Then isn't the answer quite simple?
At the risk of being too theoretical, in a "free-market" economy "the customer is King" free to make choices to suit his wants/needs/whims. Enter marketplace competion; greater selection, lower prices, innovation, etc.
If there is a "kicker" it is that the end game of compeition is to eliminate the other competitors which can elimate these advantages to the consumer by the creation of a monopolistic enterprise.
With the pelethora of fast-food outlets this seems not be a problem. No one is being forced to buy anything from anyone. Choose another sorce and you'll be fine.

Re: KFC or Chick Fil-A
People are getting all worked up about chicken it's not like they have to have a deal one Tuesday or anything.
I am sorry but those people are SAD they can buy chicken and cook it themselves for like $3 so what's the biggie?

The police had to come! People were going crazy for their chicken! Apparently this place never goes along with the deals.
Re: KFC or Chick Fil-A
Not that I've been there but it looks like a rough part of town where people are up in arms about a fried chicken shop.
