Picked up these engines from Etsy --- Rare Cox .10 engine?
Doing a search on Esty for Enya engines and ran across these "FOUR" engines.
Seller mixed up one fairly good engine with a poor engine to get them to sell?
One is a fairly good Enya .10 engine but was paired with a Cox Tee Dee .09 in poor condition.
The seller thought it was a Cox .10 engine because the Enya was .10 (marked on the Enya engine crankcase).
See the photos below:
And the 2nd pair of Enya .10 and Cox Tee .09 engines.
The Enya .10 venturi is modified, the radial mount on the Enya crankcase is missing (you can see it on the last two photos)
The Cox Tee Dee .09 was in good condition, but it was gummed up (stuck).
See photos below:
Seller was wanting $120 for the 2 pair of engines (total for the four -- $240)
Told him the problems with the engines (and the Cox engines were .09 and not .10) and the cost to make them work again.
In the end I got all four for $140 (plus shipping).
Next is to get the replacement parts for the engines and clean them up.
The rare Enya .10 engines will be worth about $120 (more if in good running condition -- NIB about $200)
Get a box from Enya, a wrench, and engine instructions and add it to my collection like my:
"NEW IN BOX"
Enya .08 engine.
What a find?
Oh, the Cox Tee Dee .09 engines will be good to have as well, with the unique mufflers?

I too am willing to bet that the TeeDees are not 09. I have never seen a red TeeDee 09 carb body. I guess one could be made by modifying a Medallion part but...
I have an Enya .10 T.V. and a TeeDee 051, I tried to set them up the same way as in one of your pictures:
Looks more and more like the TeeDee is an 051.
The other Enya looks like an 06. There’s only 6 cooling fins on that one.

I agree the TDs look to be .051s (correct for red carb body) or .049s. Looking at the glow head alone, you can tell they are not .09s.

One easy identification is the drive washer. The Tee Dee and Medallion .09 uses a stepped drivewasher which centers the prop unlike the smaller versions which have none.

Well, I'll let you guys know when I receive the engines from the postal courier?
But you maybe correct on the Cox engines being .049/.50 or .51 engines?
The Enya engines are .10 engines (at lest one of them are).
I hope the other Enya is also a .10. Still not too bad of a deal?
Photos are from the seller.
And yes, I'm not too thrilled of the needle valve driven into the wood either.

Congrats. on purchasing those engines. I'm guessing that you're more interested in the Enya's.. but the Tee Dee's don't look bad at all. They could be genuine .051's.. but you'll need to take a peak at their pistons (skirts) to see whether there's a concentric ring/groove machined near their bottoms. A ring/groove would distinguish the "top-end" as .051 displacement. The "red" carb-bodies designed for aluminum venturi's were another Tee Dee .051 only.. trademark. Of course; we're talking Cox vintage (prior to Estes) engines. You could replace the J-B weld-repaired carb-body with an aluminum part that been recently available. Inquire EXModel Engines/Matt or Cox International/Bernie for availability.

Those engines are beyond useless.
Send them here for proper disposal.

Just like all of the members here, I like to make useless engines into running "golden oldies"!
and Bob, someone's else's trash is another man's treasure.
I think I'll keep my trash and turn it into treasured engines, and maybe have them for the engine of the month?
Already have plans to get the aluminum venturi from Matt or Burnie and maybe other parts as well?

Bob was just pulling your leg
I too agree that those TeeDees are far from useless. The one without the JB blob almost looks like it’s never been mounted. The other one you can clean up really nice I am sure.
My concern was just that you might have though and paid 09 prices, but looks like you got a pretty good deal
Definitely EotM material

Yes, I know Bob was kidding.
We all like to get a good deal here and there.
As of today (5/25/2021)
I have:
Eighteen of these .049 glow engines:
Twenty-four of these .06 glow engines:
Eleven of the these .06 diesel engines:
Nine of these (rare) .08 glow engines:
And Nine of these (rare) .10 glow engines:
3/4th of all of the engines in the collection is "NEW in the Box".
And were purchased from/in Japan.
And I'll be on the look out for more.
By the way, I'll add those Cox .050/.051 engines to my vast collection of Cox engines too.
