Re: CEF .020 Horseshoe Backplate
1 shim was the ticket, even with the throttle sleeve in the way it still made much better numbers.
Cox Killer Pee Wee / 3.8x3 prop / Peak 20,833 rpm with throttle
4oz thrust / 59 mph pitch speed / .040hp - 29w
1 head shim / turbo plug adapter / 25% nitro

Re: CEF .020 Horseshoe Backplate
Lol don't feel bad Bob, I bought two straight off no self control, plus needed a back up.
For the engine thinking something simple all balsa with ply firewall. Perhaps hit 80 mph
with it, would be feisty for a Pee Wizzer.
4oz static thrust / 3.5oz RTF / 15.25" long / span 22" / 66 sq. in / 3ch / 15cc tank

Re: CEF .020 Horseshoe Backplate
Last 2 orders shipping out today. Thanks to all that purchased these to help support the forum.
Post some more run videos with the backplates. I have another design that will help keep these PeeWees running posted shortly. Still in the design phase with it.

Re: CEF .020 Horseshoe Backplate
Yes! Thanks to Jason and Jacob for creating these pieces and making this deal available. Thanks also to Brad for doing some early beta testing! I look forward to seeing more results with these and trying them myself. I've never been a big fan of my Pee Wees and have a soured relationship with them after my efforts of running/flying them without consistent success. Alternatively, I've had great success with my TD .020s and have usually chosen that platform to fly in the size. These backplates, and hopefully the availability of the turbo heads, will get me tinkering with them again and maybe Pee Whizzing in the air.

Re: CEF .020 Horseshoe Backplate
Thank you CEF Jacob and Jason!! lovely package with all the goodies to get the engine set up top notch well done!
Thank you and most welcome Troy, I had hoped the effort would inspire folks to buy and try good to hear they are sold out!
I do hope the turbo plugs happen for the .020 engine. i have been testing versions and modifying them to get a handle on whats
needed for consistency. I too prefer the TD .020 but enjoy the unique reed induction now that it mimic's as a smaller version of
the Killer Bee. Most of all finally some use out of the Pee Wee frame with run time to boot. There are more efforts being made towards
upgrading the Pee Wee by Greg and Jason. I plan to convert all my Pee Wizzers when it happens. Looking forward to seeing some projects
shared with their engines.
Killer Wasp .020 with bearings would be a treat.

Re: CEF .020 Horseshoe Backplate
Now if you guys could construct a complete cox/TD3d printed plane, car, boat, or any variation there of, I would be first in line to buy any replicas Of these fine Cox models!!! The way I see it it's like having a 426 hemi engine without proper (model/car) to experience what it was made for back in the day!!! Cox Rocks We got the engines, now all we need are the models!!! Re: CEF .020 Horseshoe Backplate
Hearing that CEF stock is now sold out, we can announce that we will likely be offering these in the near future. Ours would be a complete assembly:
Backplate
Spraybar pressed in
Short 80 TPI needle valve
Needle valve spring
Backplate screws
Reed
Reed retainer
Crankcase gasket
Unfortunately, we can't sell them for $15 as our cost of acquisition will be higher and target pricing is $24.95.

Cox Pee Wee backplate Ryan St
The backplate was made for the Ryan St control line plane, it contains a reed valve and needle valve assembly, mounts radially with 4 screws. I have several from Cox I got when I worked there.

I know they are out there along with the yellow helicopter backplates but they are hard to find in usable condition or in any condition sometimes.
This is a performance upgrade as 20k rpm is achievable on a PeeWee with proper glow head and prop.
