Cox Engine of The Month
Prop Rod Project

Prop Rod Project
I received a Prop Rod for my 10th birthday in 1959. Had a lot of fun with that teather car running in a 30' dia. circle. At some point the body was broken beyond repair. the The alum. frame and wheels just sat till about a month ago. I dug it out and made a replacement body out of an old fence board. It runs great and draws attention each time I take it out. Dad would be happy to see it still running. He raced teather cars in the 30's.

Re: Prop Rod Project
Not bad for an old fence board!! Prop Rod was my first Cox toy about the same year. We ran it hard in the street. I probably died from dirt in the engine, can't remember that part.

Prop Rod Project
She weighs in at 24OZ. not sure what a stock prop rod weighs. Back in the day I remember we added some lead to keep the car stable. Watching some slow motion video, #88 does it's share of bouncing and dancing as it goes around.
