Suggesting basswood stringers for Guillow's RC conversions
The 1/16" square balsa stringers may be OK for the little Guillow's airplanes but on the larger ones they break quite easily.
On my 400 seris Guillow's Spit' I've ordered 1/16" (PN# LXA595) square basswood stringers from Tower. 60 24" stringers for $16.79. Basswood is a lot stronger than balsa with only a very slight amount of weight added to the airplane. With basswood stringers it won't be neccessary to "plug" the fuse.

Re: Suggesting basswood stringers for Guillow's RC conversions
Very good al though I find the bulkheads to be by far the weakest parts.
Re: Suggesting basswood stringers for Guillow's RC conversions
I plan to stregthen the bulkheads by adding basswood reinforcement strips on the top and bottom of each where needed. The smaller aft bulkheads don't need reinforcement.
