Ain't no doubt about it we were doubly blessed, paradise by the dashboard lights!! Those big Chevys had huge back seats.
I was out in a cornfield one night and up rolls a cop, middle of nowhere. Girl starts giving him a bunch of crap so he took my keys and heaved em. Took hours to find them.

Me too. I have Buddy Holly albums initially on cassette replaced by CD's. The photos were great reflections on those times and accurately parodied the song.

One of the best lament songs ever.
The words match and flow, the music, the arrangement, and of course there will never be another Connie Francis. Sorry you guys missed the 1950's/60's.

We didn't miss much, for example:
History from: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zcb1HpH42N8
YouTube: Beat-Club wrote:Fanny was an American all-female band, active in the early 1970s. They were one of the first notable rock groups to be made up entirely of women, the third to sign with a major label (after Goldie & the Gingerbreads and the Pleasure Seekers), and the first to release an album on a major label (in 1970). They achieved two top 40 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 and released five albums.
Sisters June Millington (born April 14, 1948, Manila, Philippines) and Jean Millington (born May 25, 1949, Manila, Philippines) moved with their family from the Philippines to Sacramento, California in 1961. In high school they formed an all-girl band called the Svelts with June on guitar, Jean on bass, Addie Lee on guitar, and Brie Brandt on drums. Brandt was later replaced by Alice de Buhr (born September 4, 1949, Mason City, Iowa). When the Svelts disbanded, de Buhr and Lee formed another all-female group called Wild Honey. The Millington sisters later joined this band, which played Motown covers and eventually moved to Los Angeles.
There were a nice share of honeys during our time, Wild Honey's included.

J. Geils
I'm a U.S. Southeastern Massachusetts native.. (hometown-Franklin). The J. Geils band was a local band back in the 70's.. that I really liked.
This was (and still is..) one of my favorites..
I played in a band back then, that covered several of their songs.

Hey Doug! Their song "Give it to Me" (Bloodshot album) has a great Hammond/tone-wheel organ type solo that is the epitome of cool..
Re: music vids.. some of your favorites
Give it to me is one of my favorites as well. The radio stations were reluctant to play it thinking it was controversial. If they only could hear music today, I'm sure they would've reconsidered that. I was never a fan of the 80's Geils music . The "Centerfold era" was just not the same even though it was claimed to be the bands best hit.

SANTANA
a live cut from the Zebop album. I'll preface by saying that my exposure to Carlos Santana's music was hugely instrumental in my becoming a musician.
I was twenty one years old in 1981.. (39 years ago..) I was single.. had a decent job and a 1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass Salon that had a really nice sound system. It was a Sanyo bi-amp'd tuner with an auto-reverse cassette player. The speakers were matched Sanyo tri-axials that fit the std. 6" X 9" cut-outs in the panel behind the rear seat.
This is one of those songs that would be played loud...

"Harmonics Got Crazy" - by Daniel Padim
For folks with guitars slow the playback to 75% to learn this busy piece.
There are others who have posted tutorials to help speed up the learning curve.
