K&B Stallion 049 head
Does anyone have a Stallion 049 engine, or glow head? If so could you confirm that the K&B head will fit right in a Testors,McCoy, Wen Mac cylinder? I think it will but I dont have one to check.

A Testors plug is too wide, I think the Stallion is the same as the Tornado, which is about the same as a post '55 Cox, but not as deep.

Yep, it looks like a k&b stallion head on a testors engine. I surfed and found two threads where they were saying the stallion was the same as the tornado, and I looked at a tornado head on my workbench and compared it to a testors and its considerably smaller. Looks like the posts I was quoting from was B.S.!

Re: K&B Stallion 049 head
I was really hoping someone would have a glow head to try for me. On the video it could be that it fits, or it has been modified. I dont think the guy that posted the video knows. It would be nice for those folks that just want to buy a glow head and go had a option. The adapter head from mecoa works, but the engines are sensitive to the plugs used.

I see MECOA is selling NOS Stallion glowheads or at least they state they are, there's also one on feeBay. Maybe roll the dice and order one?
I gotta think it would be a lot of messing to mod a Testors cylinder for a semi obscure glowhead to fit, but stranger things have happened.

The Stallion head fits the Testors cylinder I have. I'll try to post pictures by tomorrow.

.049 stallion head on the Testors cylinder I have. No modifications to either, not sure about the compression.

Re: K&B Stallion 049 head
The new old stock glow head came in the mail today. It has part #4919 on the card and a price of 65 cents. It fit a little tight on the threads. It went in freely for about one turn and I just worked it back and forth till it seated all the way. I didnt have to force it and it didnt seem to cut the threads any, but I think the heads is a thousandth or so bigger than the Testors. I use the same engine for all my glow head and plug testing, and also the same fuel and prop. The prop is a 5.5x3 white tornado. With the Testors head this engine will make 15400 rpm and to me that aint bad for a Testors engine. With the K&B head today she went 17100 rpm steady. The combustion chamber on my head is different than the picture sent by Exsanitary. Mine looks like if you took a TEEDEE head and milled off the squish area. Looks strange but man did it work!

I talked to k&b today and they said there heads are like mine pictured here.

Re: K&B Stallion 049 head
I remembered yesterday to test the head using the thick testors aluminum head gasket. It worked out real good yielding about 300 rpm increase over the stock head and a more steady run over the stock head. I was very pleased with it.

That's good to hear Phil , Glad you were able to get things squared away . That is some very good Rs for a Testors i think .
