Trademark is a non-issue as no one has model engines trademarked that way and, even if they did, before someone actually got a cease and desist order, they would all be sold.
Good, glad to hear that. "A rose by any other name, still smells like a rose!"
Too many lawyers messing with our lives.

Re: Name our new engine!
That copper-color is rich.. it's "hot-rod"... I see that engine being mounted on a profile model with a dark-themed finish. A deep dark-green gloss wing.. with copperhead snake-graphics.. and a black fuse.. with razor-back streamlined canopy detail.. and smooth belly contour. A "Snake in the Grass"....

Re: Name our new engine!
Congratulations Bernie
So now this is the new top engine with the same rpm specs, both with
a 2k window. What is the difference in rpm on average?
Cox .049 Engine "CopperHead" US$ 119.00
This is our most powerful Cox .049 engine
Performance: 18,000 - 20,000 RPM with a 5x3 prop & 25% nitro
Cox .049 Engine "Venom II" US$ 79.95
This is our 2nd most powerful Cox .049 Engine
Performance: 18,000 - 20,000 RPM with a 5x3 prop & 25% nitro

Bernie, if I might make a suggestion?Cox International wrote:Well, there she is

I just checked out your listing and wonder if it can be worded a little better. (Not wanting to sound like a critic )
Your description states "Copper crankcase", "Copper head", "Copper spinner", "Copper tank". It makes the engine sound like it's made from copper
Maybe (for the benefit of those not clever enough to figure out othewrwise) you need to chage it to Copper-coloured etc.
While Copper is a colour, it is primarily a type of metal. I doubt your engine actually contains any (apart from the plating on the piston.)
EDIT.
Woops, sorry, I didn't read far enough
"Copper" is in reference to colour only and not material (as stated further down the page)

The engine should perform a bit better than the Venom because it has a higher compression head but there are so many variables, including but not limited to variances in parts tolerances, fuel, elevation, prop balance, etc.

No, very valid comment indeed. The disclaimer should be more visible. May tweak the listing a bit today.

Great Bernie. I note the change, and I see you spell COLOUR correctly as well

I just looked over your new listing for the engine, Bernie, and not to be a nit-picker but you misspelled "color".

Re: Name our new engine!
Bernie used the English spelling used everywhere in the world except in American English. They fly Aeroplanes too.

Oooo! Oooo! Here you go: "Snakes on a Plane".
Venom....Purple python, and the CopperHead. "What's on your plane?" Typed in my very best Samuel L Jackson voice.

Hey Bernie!
I know you guys took a bad hit and still recovering
I am sad you got zero help for the last news letter
BUT I have to ask .....cuz I have every one in the series.....and fully expect to collect the "whole set"
Are there any plans for a new Cox International specialty engine?
Gold plated? Naw that needs to be an 10th aniversary special
All Yellow.... Super bee?
Yellow/ Black.... Bumble Bee?
Beige/Cream... Old Time Bee

Re: Name our new engine!
Growing up in Canada and moving to the US caused me some grief. I am typically pretty good with spelling, but got some laughs here and there. Colour vs Color is but one example. My wife laughed at me when I wrote her a note saying we need a new cheque book. Mostly it the double "L" that gets me and I screw up Licence vs License all the time.

Re: Name our new engine!
Way-out on a limb here with my suggestion.. "Green Hornet" configured similar to a "Killer-Bee" except with a green-molded KB-style backplate, black anodized case, Tee Dee ported cylinder, green anodized insert-style head and matching Tee Dee-style aluminum spinner..
Maybe it's too costly to have the backplates molded in green for a small production-run?
Phred, do you have a photo of all your "boutique" engines together? I'm not familiar with all the other "specialty-engines" that were made. Were there any that weren't tanked-engines?

Re: Name our new engine!
Roddie there are a few photos here on CEF of my entire series...so far all of CoxInter (Bernie's) creations were Tanked Bee's
Others got in early with their personal ## preference... Lucky #7 or #13 what ever... I was born in 1955 so did not have much competition for all mine to be #55s
I sort of know when Bernie started this specialty engine series, it would be short lived...basically because there are only so many mods and color combinations to make truly unique engines in the $89 to $115 range
I hope he took to heart my back ward suggestion of the 10th anniversary Cox International be gold plated

That would be ultra-cool Phred... If Bernie could source some metal backplates.. the entire engine could be electroplated in 24 karat..
