Lil and ugly stik
About a year ago I built a plane for my 010-s called Speedy but it did not really work out. It was beta version sold by Selecthobbies.
I also had a Lil Stik (aka Ugly Stik) in my attic so I decided yesterday morning to finish it. Here it is and not ugly at all. The 010 fits it's appearance quite well.
2 channels for ailerons and elevator. I will maiden it in 2016 it is pretty cold here today.
Happy New Year to you all

Covering job looks great way to go! You should have a nice stable flying plane to work with here.
Look forward to your flying report and vid if able.

Thank you! The monocote is warped here and there, but overall it looks fine. I will do some hairdrying work on it though.

Thank you Kim. I saw a couple of them on youtube videos flying very handy..I hope the new year breaks with a bit milder temp than the freeze today. It is not easy to hold the radio and handle the joysticks when you are shivering. A nitro engine of this size cannot be started either with gloves on.
But I will post a video of the maiden flight soon.

Re: Lil and ugly stik
This time I jammed as much gear (aileron servo and the main switch) into the wing center as possible....the stomach is big enough for the tank, the battery, receiver and the elevator servo only...
It weighs - with the tank empty - 5,458 oz i.e. 154.74grams only. The 010 is good, in my experience, to fly planes up to at least 260 grams (my Roaring 20 refers here) so it should not be a problem for the 010 to go and mess around with it in the air...lets see hopefully tomorrow - freeze permitting...

Re: Lil and ugly stik
Well it's a lot prettier than my GWS Slow Stick. Neither may not be a marvel of aerodynamic engineering but yours is a work of art, mine is more like waste of perfectly good insulation and coat hanger material... Well, one has to learn with something, right? NO way my skill&reflexes would be adequate for flying anything faster than a glider or a park flyer. I actually managed to bend the fuselage (and the prop axle of course) on the Slow Stick yesterday Well, it stalled and dove nose first on ice due to sudden loss of power, the drive gear gave up just as I blipped it to full "throttle" and pulled up from a slow&low pass...

Re: Lil and ugly stik
Do not give up Kari, the Lil/Ugly Stik and the Das Not Ugly family (you will find a few videos on them on youtube) are seen to be a well navigable bunch of birds, even if they are not aerodynamical breakthroughs with their blunt, large-surface firewalls.
Mine came in a kit with the wings and fuselage assembled, uncoated (without instruction on assembly), so I just had to install the servos, find out how to connect ailerons with the servos, elevator, and add a multi-purpose firewall then monocote it.
I maidened it with the 010 and it flies well, but my head-monted camera did not want to work and it was way too cold over the weekend for me to handle all technical challenges in the field at -10C...
So the video will come a bit later.

Finally I managed to video the 2nd maiden flight of the LilStik today....very chilly and windy weather, the TD010 fought in the headwind like a real lion, but the plane flies well balanced, and reacts beautifully to the 2-channel controls; a short video was also shot ...(my camera ran short on juice so more to come later):

Re: Lil and ugly stik
Andras, I like your little plane. You said it came as a kit, wings and fuse pre assembled?
Is it the same as this one, on Outerzone?
http://www.outerzone.co.uk/plan_details.asp?ID=2331
I do need to build something for the traveling engine, and this looks like it would do nicely.
Thanks for the pictures and video!

Thanks Rene,
the picture in the above link resembles my LilStick, it came as a kit. Mine has a wavy traveling edge on the ailerons and elevator, and does not have a dihedral in the wing spar.
I am not sure where it originates from, I bought it on ebay. It was introduced by the ebayer as a plane for a 020 engine, but it flies well with the 010 too. I fashioned the firewall to accommodate a TD 020 too, though.

Thanks, Eric,
I went to the field today again, but the wind was so chilly that my hands with the radio heavily trembled and I decided not to fly. (Gloves are unthinkable when handling such a tiny engine)..Too bad, I have to wait till next weekend when I have the time to go flying again..

Here is another one, just like mine, on ebay.

Re: Lil and ugly stik
Sports gloves for driving are tight fitting enough to perhaps work.
A SWR (sheet wing racer) version of the Lil Stick would help speed things up with the TD .010

Prop blast and firewall size
I was going to comment that the large firewall would blanket a lot of that tiny propeller's thrust and so it might not fly.
But what do I know............
(It seems to fly just fine despite my concerns)

Yea part of their charm but could clean up the nose a bit so the wee lil prop can have a chance of
moving some air past the air frame with less obstruction.

The postman just delivered the Testors 4 inch 3-bladed props I bought from Bernie. I tached one of them on my TD020 mounted on my Lil Stick and measured 19,4k with my 20% nitro-flavoured home blended fuel. I guess it will unload in the air at around 21k, i.e. just a bit below the peak performace of the TD020, so it seems to be a good marriage.
I am not sure for what engine size Testors produced the 4" dia 3-bladed prop, though...it is definitely small for the 049 COX engines (even the reedies) and I thought it was going to be just large for the TD020...in fact it is not. And the engine and prop size ratio just looks fine too, with the added benefit of less obstructed flow from the prop by the blunt-nose of the Lil Stick:
