Ugly stik for 049
Looking for an ugly stik suitable size for 049 engine. I guess littlest stick is too small for this engine. I just need something that can fly reasonably and not like a rocket. Anyone has build something like this before?

Re: Ugly stik for 049
I've seen plans somewhere for a built-up balsa frame version of the Ace foam wings, but where is a good question. Paul Bradley has Mach None and Pacer built up wing plan, but those used the taper Ace cores, not constant chord, which would work for the Stick.

Found this one https://outerzone.co.uk/plan_details.asp?ID=2333
Looks like it is designed around a cox engine, maybe it is ideal for my sure start diesel conversion i am about to do.

Yes I have seen it, ideal but as you said expensive specifically for overseas customers. I'll try and give the plan to someone locally and laser cut it for me.

Hello, why not the Mini Bird, I have built two models for Cox Tee Dee .049...it flies excellently, I even changed engines just for fun.

Unt Woine! Baby talk from my friends kid for: Want one!
Mauricio! Beautiful birds! Wonderful idle to wide open throttle response! I've got to kick this infernal dizziness/weakness from the last few months.
I have three imperative projects before I can build, again. Docs are still wondering What the Actual Freak is it.
Just need a little luck, now!
Oh, and for the Ace foam wing:

Re: Ugly stik for 049
Excellent builds and nice models models but i prefer right now the classic ugly stick just to fill the gap of my 60" stick i broke sometime ago. Throttle ring is very response also and i like the small wheels

Re: Ugly stik for 049
Thanks guys!...
Thomas, they are practically the same model airplane.
You cut the fairing or do not manufacture it directly, make the ailerons and elevator straight and you have a Stick...with high flight conditions.
Here is a video with a Norvel .074 engine and a MPJet .061 engine, both models no longer have an engine fairing...
Good luck with your project!:

"Note this plan shows a tapered wing, but a constant chord wing can also be built from this, using the root rib template. Wingspan is 35in discounting the shaped wingtips"
