Wow, Rod, 108 Deg. F, you're have Clovis type Summer weather during your Summer (our Winter). We get may be about a week here and there of that weather in July and August. Those who say "it's always Winter on a bike" (motorcycle) have never ridden in those temperatures.

We're having a very mild January here in Eastern New Mexico. We have a few days where nights dipped below freezing, but we've had weather in the near mid 60's F (18 C) bobbing down to low 40's (5 C). We dodged the last snow storm a few days ago that dump a lot of snow in Northern NM and Amarillo, Texas.
We had 10 inches (10 inches between each snow flake).

Yeah, as much as I hate this heat, I could never handle the sort of cold that you guys experience. My joints ache too much as it is.

Getting a little chilly here.   Only three more months of this, then it'll start warming up.

Looking to the positive, you have a zero pollen allergy report.

At least for the next couple days, we are having a short bit of Spring weather.

And this is what I'll be putting up with for the next few days. ....

That's something, I guess. Not much danger of catching West Nile virus or malaria, since the mosquito population is pretty low right now.

That’s about -4deg F, on the same trip home from the office I did see -24deg Celsius, that’s about -11def F Couple of nights it was even colder, and the car had some trouble to start, as the battery is about 9 years old and the block pre-heater does not work... On the other hand, the tape player works like a charm and after a few miles it is warm and cozy inside

The freeze does make the bare trees look pretty, looked close or from distance:



But yeah, no mosquitos nor pollen here either, and after a few months it’ll get warmer

It is not that easy, but we get along. Usually a deep freeze like this lasts a couple of weeks, so we are usually prepared for it, or so we say....

To contrast, here of all things we are having Spring motorcycling weather in Eastern New Mexico / Texas Panhandle.

Just a little update. It will be a bit cooler than expected tonight and tomorrow here. It is expected to hit -51 celcius (-60 farenheit) tonight and last through tomorrow (temperature is with the windchill), even during the daytime. She's gonna be a little nippy. I'm sure the truck wont be liking this..... At least I know I won't!

O StuFF man if i ever see Ice Crystals in the forecast >> What the heck does that mean anyway <<< Come spring time i would have to move to warmer climate , that's just crazy !!! Heck it not any colder in Alaska

Them ice crystals are like a fog of ice. It really hits you when you take a big breath, although the -62F (with winchill) would probably do it as well! It was a cold day, but we are now on the warm-up phase. Or so they say..... Currently at -25F without the windchill, and -40F with the windchill. Still have Ice crystals though...
