If you measure the bore of the cylinder that you have, you will be able to tell which size it is, .049 or .061.
I think everything is interchangeable, but the stroke is slightly smaller on the .049 too.

I found with my first NRVEL engines that the size easily came off since it was just painted on.
I scratched the size on the case before it disappeared completely and took care to not disturb the others. The Revlite engines had the size stamped on the engine. They were making constant changes so there may be other iterations, but these are the versions I have.

Just going to throw this out there, but you say it says AMA 1o, could it possibly be 1.0, which in turn equates to the .061? Just guessing. Posting a picture of my new .061 here to compare numbers and such. This is a .061 Big Mig, which was sold to me as an AME .049.

1cc is .061 so I would have to agree with you.

Hello Eric,

Thank you for your order. Unfortunately, we didn't update our site to
display that Big Mig 049 piston set was out of stock.
We can ship you an AMD piston set, which is very similar (see picture).
So that's what's coming now Smile

That'll work. You'll need to learn to fly a zillion miles an hour... Just kidding. Prop it with an APC 6x2, and it will still scream, but fly at a manageable speed. Buy about 5 of them from Omnimodels on eBay, they're cheaper with only a buck99 shipping. You have to bush the rear hole with fuel tube to fit the prop screw. Or a backwards 6x3 of some sort, just to see what it really will do. I think it sounds like a great combination. Hopefully it's NOS. The new Revlite Big Mig P/Cs of the NV Engines variety have been said to be kind if limp. Don't mention it to Andras Balogh lol.

Rusty I am reading it and hope the NV engines you and other CEF members will buy will be a tad better than mine that was dead on arrival...

The fact the NV distributor is sending a different piston than what was ordered, without prior advice to the customer, already indicates there must be something going on (or rather, not going on) at NV

Here's my .049.. recently acquired as a gift from a DEAR friend in a far away land! It has a tank like George's .049.

You may already know this Eric.. but there was an accompanying note; "This has a tapered tight-fit piston.. Don't be tempted to turn it over until warmed-up, or you intend to start it."

I have to wonder if this is how your broken rod came to be? The PO may have tried to force it through compression not knowing?

These are pre-revlite cylinders and definitely made before the NV era, so it should be fine in terms of fit. They can be tight but they will not leak.
