OK...cold and nasty outside...warm and cozy in the shop. Friends previously lied to, "No, really...I feel like crap..probably gonna be sick all day tomorrow-'wokhar!!! akkk'--fake flem-hurling cough...
OK Bubba...time for some action !
First on the docket: THE BUG !
Then...Good Fuel or Bad Fuel ? Well, it's got "Super Lube", so what could possibly go wrong?? !!!! Fiendish laughter as an innocent, unknowing Babe Bee is pulled from the "Engine Garage"!!! Bwarr HAR !
to be continued......

Sorry Shock ! If they don't run, they might as well have been chipped from pig-iron!
Be brave my friend, Glory is seldom visited upon those who puff of brave deeds, then cower in the shadows!
But seriously, GOT to see this thing DO it's thing! Perhaps Mr. Cox might look down and approve...or, he may be shaking his head at all the fervor...hard to say !

Re: Kim's "Day of Truth Projects"
I would like to see this Kim.
Maybe it could be one of the earliest engine on YouTube.
I will laugh if that old fuel is now like 50% oil!

IT RUNS !!!!!!!!!!
Here we go! Rather, here goes The Space Bug !!!!
It's a cranky old sucker, so, I naturally related to it! Too little prime...won't hit...too much prime...won't hit...just the right amount of prime...well MAYBE it'll run... !
Sorry for the out-of-focus shots...camera focused on the door, and I didn't feel like arguing with it.
Ran it real rich on a gray 6-3 with glowplugboy 24% FUEL. The high tach-reading is just as it ran out of fuel.
Got video...I'll try to crunch it, then run to the airport and use their WiFi to shoot it out.
Now, on the "Fuel of the Pharaohs" A Great Saturday so far !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Fuel of the Pharoahs" My Black Widow Likes It !!
Don't know it's actual vintage, but have had it for a pretty good while! One thing for sure, it's not gonna spend any more time on the back shelf!

Nice!!! Great job Kim, it will be the world's first youtube video of someone actually running an original 60 year old cox engine!

Hey Kim,
Do you have the spinner nut that that came with the Space Bug? The one designed to pinch with your finders to stop reverse starts?
Send me a PM.

Only when you poison them!
Space Bug Peak
Hey Rusty, (and all)
Ran the Space Bug again late yesterday on Sig 25%. I let it warm up running slobber-rich, then leaned it for a few peaks and back. Looks like it's top end is in the low 14's with a grey 6-3.
