This Week's Purple Plane...
I have a complete Jetco SHARK 15 kit, that I did not build, but I did cut all new parts and build with them! I copied the decals onto the special paper, and applied them upon completion. Fox .15 BB engine. There are just a couple of small pieces that I didn't attach to the airframe: little fairings at the wing root leading and trailing edges, also, the landing gear strut fairings. We'll bounce it around at the circles, first, and see if they will be installed. They will complete the SHARK character, if they were on the plane.

All your planes look marvellous. I have to admire the way you decorate them and how you stick to the same colour scheme but vary the balance of it.

Re: This Week's Purple Plane...
Thanks Ian!
I am proud to trim my planes with purple. Some are my own scheme, and others follow closely the original's design. If you are familiar with the Shark, Olympic Mk VI, Super Ringmaster, they are very close to their prototype's trim- albeit in purple. I think purple is making a comeback in aircraft colors! Mine are! I even found an A-7 Corsair trimmed with purple, for the speed contest!

Re: This Week's Purple Plane...
I take time, effort and exhibit a great deal of patience building a model - I have five on the go at the moment. I will remake parts, scrap things and start again until it is right.
BUT - all my coverings and final finishes - I rush them. Colour scheme depends on the material I have picked up. I think all my planes would be a solid red cover with no trim if I didn't keep trying a different colour. Or should I say - used a colour because the covering was at a price I couldn't resist!
I am unlikely to paint anything because I can't resist touching the paint to see if it has dried - (I also can't resist touching things to see if they are hot!)
Your finishes are definitely something to aspire to!

Re: This Week's Purple Plane...
You guys are too much! This is a case of the pictures making the subject look better than it is! The camera DOES lie.
The wind died at 5:30 today, so I just returned from flying it. Needs just a hint of nose weight to make it perfect. I was hoping to get by without adding any weight, as many of the planes I've built lately show the CG forward of where it actually works. Not this one! Managed two stooge-launched flights. We are all planning to go tomorrow, so weather permitting- I will have a full report. Also, more flights with the Fancherized Twister and perhaps the Olympic, too!

Re: This Week's Purple Plane...
I like the Shark, the first one I ever saw was Kim's. Yours looks great, Gus..., Doug, right?
I was rooting around looking for the spare needle for the TT.25 on my Shoestring and picked up a TT box and it was heavier than it should be for an empty box. WTH? There was the empty one right next to it. I opened it up and there was a gleaming brand new Thunder Tiger GP15 with all the trimmings. Wow! I had forgotten Steve, 66 Malibu had given me that with the Pica ME-109 R/C kit. It was such a busy Fall, I'd slam forgotten all about it. Now I have another project, this one for a .15 plane. The Shark will go on the list. Also competing for the .15 is the profile Hyper Viper replica that I drew up last year. Whichever one i pick will be my next project after the Oriental. I've never had a .15 plane before. And the HV color scheme is in Gus's colors too. I drew it up for 1/2A but it can be enlarged.
Here is the Viper:
And my drawing for the profile(the moments are all Flite Streak):
