I didn't know there was an unmarked thin wall #1. I knew there might be a thin wall with dual bypass, but if you measure the bypass depth it would be shallower than a #1 or unmarked BW.

I guess I could be more specific. I need an early thin wall cylinder with dual bypass and spi. Like what would have been on a space bug, thermal hopper, strato bug, and rr-1.RknRusty wrote:I didn't know there was an unmarked thin wall #1. I will have to measure the wall thickness on the ones I have. The Engine handbook states thin walled #1. Should not be stamped though as production of the first RR-1 started in '57. Very early ones had backplates with un-drilled vent tubes.

Still looking for the cylinder. And the crankcase is still available.

My RR-1 is the loudest fastest tanked Bee I've flown. It really roared. Did not like a 6x3 prop though. Like the Tee Dee, it was happy with a 5-1/4" prop. I had it on my Li'l Satan for about a year, but it's clean and wrapped up in a drawer now. I want to put it on a Hollow log Musciano Little Devil.

I will agree that the thing is loud. I thought my black widow was loud. When my RR-1 started I instantly regretted not having ear plugs.RknRusty wrote:My RR-1 is the loudest fastest tanked Bee I've flown. It really roared. Did not like a 6x3 prop though. I find ear plugs fall out too easily,
I prefer to use my shooting muffs which are far more secure when in use.

Yeah anything would have worked. My neighbors and dogs certainly didn't enjoy it.SuperDave wrote:I find ear plugs fall out too easily,
