Re: Follow The Traveling Engine!
I am going to go ahead and do a writeup now and post video and pictures later. Kim was the camera man for this little venture so we have a little distance logistics to work out.
This Sunday Kim, myself and my friend met at Buder Park in St. Louis MO. It was a bit intimidating as we were in the company of some pretty serious builders and fliers! However, we overcame quickly and broke out our 1/2A stuff and sent wonderful fumes of high nitro fuel across the field.
Kim was kind enough to allow my pal to fly a PT-19, his first CL flight ever and he managed to pull of several roller coaster laps before planting it in the grass. A cracked fuel tank put an end to that bit of fun, but he was excited about the flight and wants to go again!
The Traveling Engine was flown several times by myself and Kim and it performed very well. Perhaps even a bit better than the TD I swapped it out for. I had to use some of the parts off of my TD to make it work as I had lead in my spinner and backplate to balance out my Baby Clown. Other than that it was all Traveling Engine. All runs were done on pressure and it seems to work well for this engine should anyone else down the line wish to run it on pressure.
I'd like to thank Jason for the opportunity to use his lucite jewel! I had a blast! Special thanks to Kim for meeting up with me in St. Louis and for doing all the film work.

Re: Follow The Traveling Engine!
Great report. I'm glad it ran well for you. So it must've just been my home made gasket(for the radial mount backplate) causing the surging problems I experienced. I'm looking forward to your multimedia recap.

Re: Follow The Traveling Engine!
Thanks Rusty,
I had a great time. The traveling engine portion of the day was short compared to the rest of the day. It was probably the most fun though. I really enjoy meeting folks in person.

We'll have to try and coax the stealthy Microflitedude Matt out of hiding while you're here in South Cakalackey, so you can meet one more. I wish we could get Crankbender, Fit90 and Bob Dickerson to converge on Columbia for an East coast meet and greet fly-in. 66 Malibu from Atlanta has been to my house

TE at Fred's Airplane works before heading to Ron
TE and I had a good time in the shop and visiting with a combat nut from Texas
Weather that week was crappy so TE did not get a chance to experience Fred's world famous Figure 9 escape maneuver
Hanging out with some of my gifts from other forum members
TE on a well crashed Lite Hawk inviting a rebuilt Fox Mk VI .36 combat to come play
TE sizing up some Jeff Dawson 1/2A combat designs and thinking...humm I can haul those dinky things around
Maybe with a couple of passengers?
TE with some much larger cousins, no penis envy here, the TeeDee knows the N36c s are skairt of Fred's frequent figure 9 habit

Good show Fred. Sorry we couldn't get to see the world famous Figure 9 escape maneuver. I like the Nelsons though.

T.E. IN ICT
The Traveling Engine arrived in Wichita today. ICT does not mean Insane Clown Town, for those that might have wondered. Great packaging for the engine and accessories!
I have several missions for the engine to perform: One is to power a mono-line airplane I have been flying with the Flight Contest COX .051. Another is on the Baby Birdy R/C plane that competed in the flight contest, and I must say: I should fly it on the Jr. Ringmaster, for the BOTR Ringmaster Fly-A-Thon, on OCT. 4th and 5th.
I have the Beta Test Fuel now, and will use that in it exclusivley- along with some other engines I have here. Reports will be made.
This will all begin after I return from Tulsa, to compete in a Stunt Contest. Wish me luck! This should be FUN!
Thanks!

Re: Follow The Traveling Engine!
I've been so busy lately that I haven't been able to follow everything on the forum (that doesn't mean I don't think about it though). Any new updates on the traveling engine?
