blowing the dust off this thread :)
Howdy. New guy here...
Wanted to breathe a bit of life back into this thread.
I've been a life long fan of this kit, and finally an owner I'm in the middle of going thru and restoring a gently used 'runner', but stoked to also have a NIB shelf queen kit.
Given the unique glow head is, well, unique, what do ya'll do? I was thinking of running a 'traditional' glow head (without the cooling head).
Thank you in advance!

anyway, if you have the original heat-sink I would use it. Otherwise, you can can purchase one of those aftermarket "glow plug ready" modified head, and use glow plugs (which are more ready available)

Both of mine have the heat sink head, but I’m not familiar with either of these options. Any links to where to buy or learn more? Thx!

For the heatsink cooling head there are two models one made on the standard glow plug the other with a typical raising part of the Cox gtp is different made only on the glow plug designed for this purpose
This is m'y création stack two heatsink on m'y engine the old cox one fit on the cylinder and the new desing norvel type Heli head heatsink

And dont ever never run a cars engine without its heatsink Unless you drive very rich, not long less than a minute Even with the heatsink it can overheat if it is runing too lean use castor oil as possible for cars its very important i like To run the gtp its a fast one drive Good To stil a bit bumpy But it's typical of this chassie much less worse than the jerobee that wheely and so mutch faster wit the tee dee engine

I started make parts my self clutch heatsink exaust collector and som prototype parts
rc Exaust tuned pipe new model new clutch Bell lots of work on the table
I like To build crazy engine stuf I like to think outside the box Preconceived ideas are not for me I'm far from ready to sell and distribute parts for everyone, but I work on this Sooner or later I will make my own model with its own piece designed for him I already have some prototype that I haven't presented to the world I'm just a simple guy capable of manufacturing parts I'm not an entrepreneur yet

pull start cord
Howdy
I've been searching high and low, and can not find the plastic pull start 'cord'. I know this was used on a variety of kits, so I'm sorta surprised how challenging it's been to find one.
I know I read somewhere about someone looking to 3d print these. I have no idea if this option would be strong enough, but I'm open to giving it a shot.
Thank you in advance for any help finding this!

Jason has been missing from here for a while now Amend had tried to reach out to him with no luck , I did get 3 of these starter strips some time ago 3-4 yrs. he had reproduced .. They came out nice but with my little experience i broke one figuring out how to use it , broke right at the handle he told me even the original would do that and they needed to be pulled through in a short stroke manner ( I think that is why there few and far from being around . ) He had thought of using a difft. type of material to print them and that was the last i have heard .

Yes he hasn't posted anything for a while I hope he is well The work on the crankcase 3d print with bearing was very cool To replace a pull start it is possible to use a large oring to start it also possible to use a belt i used à old used BMW oil filter seal oring But I had to. Loosen the glow plug to lower the compression once I start I tighten it up it work Fine just a bit More hardware needed to start it and the oring that swings in the back when you ride sometimes I could see it spinning its pretty funny To see it straighten up right above the engine and wigle crazy
