Is this some super secret area in our "neck of the woods"? LOL. I'm kind of leery about showing up at a school yard or someplace like that...

Not a problem with me to fly small CL planes at a school yard or field provided it is allowed and otherwise unoccupied. A high school football field is a good example. I always get permission before doing it however.

.010 Powered Nobler
For those unfamiliar with CL, probably the most popular CL built up fuselage stunt plane in the 50s - 70s, most flyers first built up fuselage plane was a Nobler. Designed by George Aldrich..
Here is a .010 powered version

Check out the photos

I'd love to see it fly, even if it did nothing but level.

That is cute and IMO on par with the baby ringmaster and my tiny tohm
For cuteness.

Re: Cox .010 appreciation thread
What WONDERFUL rememberance of Aldrich's "Nobler" and the halicon days of CL flying!
Though I never built the full-sized "Nobler", I flew againt them (and was defeated) in stunt competition. My favorite CL stunt plane was a Kenhi "Cougar" w/ .35 Veco power which I built in 1962 (yes I'm that old). I hangs today, somewhat tattered, in one of my grandson's bedroom.
Should it be flown today it would need some MAJOR re-hab. All though structurally sound, the silkspan has split AND deteriorated badly. Painted orange, white and black, it once cut some fine circles on the flying field.
But for those learning to fly CL, a profile fuse is a better choice; built-up's can come later once confidence, competence is attained.

Re: Cox .010 appreciation thread
EVERYBODY flew Noblers, I wanted something different. I built a Smoothie, then a Ruffy after I crashed the Smootie because the Johnson .35 died on me in the middle of a maneuver ( can't recall what it was, I think an hourglass). I switched to a Fox on the Ruffy ( didn't have good luck with it, either). That was about at the end of my CL days of yore.

CZ:
IIRC, a Johnson 35 was an outboard motor because I had one.
I had a preference for the K&B "Torpedo" or Veco's for stunt engines. Foxes were far more popular but, because EVERYONE had one, I chose to be different. I still have my vintage Fox .15 RC with which I first ventured into RC flight in the mid-sixties.
The little Fox could withstand a considerable amount of abuse as my RC "learning curve" advanced. It has been repectfully "retired" as a momento here in my den.

Re: Cox .010 appreciation thread
Still, the Johnson was an excellent engine
The Kenhi "Panther" was pretty cool too. I liked the both but never built either.
Lew McFarland designed the Ruffy to compete with Bob Palmer's Smoothie...that's how it got its name.
To compete with the Nobler, Lew designed the "Humbler"...which was renamed by the kit manufacturer to "Shark 45" because of the tail shape and engine size.
Lew recently passed away.

I hope so - at least I don't have to worry about damaging back plates like on the PeeWee. I might start thinking about the Parkzone micro models.... *insert sinister laugh*

Oh yeah, forgot about clearance. Can it swing a 4"? The stock GB swings a 5" I believe, and barely clears the fuselage/cowl.

Diesel you can do more maybe 6x2.
That will work out great. Might put an .020 tri blade on.
Unfortunately, diesel .010 is not possible.... yet.
Re: Cox .010 appreciation thread
I might look into purchasing a PZ airframe, then putting some cheap equipment in it.
