Come on over! We are going to try the waters Saturday morning. I have the boat, rods, and tackle. And we have salmon fishing most of the year, somewhere. Best is now through end of winter.Cribbs74 wrote:Yum, yeah I would seriously consider setting down the handle for some Salmon fishing.

Re: Cox flight contest time log (Winners announced and prize pics)
Well here goes - first flight log.
Sorry it is late but I only landed from Africa this morning (business not pleasure!). Though, while I was there I managed to keep up with my IPad thingy but tis a toy compared to a real PC. Took me a while just to change the avatar and I couldn't upload pictures from the damn thing.
However, now I have access to real resources I am ready to upset everyone again. I am definitely over to the "Dark Side" and looking for recruits!
I digress -
July
Total 3:42:55
Flights 41
Average flight time 2.686703minutes
Longest flight 0:11:59
Shortest flight 0:00:01(I had quite a few of these!)
The plane has survived some severe landings and I shuld say these took place over 3 days!

My son Daniel would like to log 5 Flights at 17 minutes and 57 seconds for the month of July. And I'm still looking for my times.

August 8, 2013
Three flights x 4 minutes = 12 minutes (used about a third of an ounce in the bladder this time)
Contest total: 00:30:36
I got to entertain a foamy ARFer who had never seen a 1/2A fly before. After the first flight I looked over at him sitting on the bleachers with his mouth open.
I flew 5 flats after I launched the first flight so Wayne could clock me. 2.8 second laps.
EDIT:
This has to me a mis-statement. A third of a syringe(1oz) is more like it.

Re: Cox flight contest time log (Winners announced and prize pics)
I flew a flight and a half today. The first one was cut short when my bladder holder popped and flopped back and forth enough to unscrew the venturi, later found in the grass. So a 4 minute flight and an estimated 2 minute flight gets me up to a total of 36 minutes. I rounded off the 36 seconds just to neaten it up.

I think by a landslide, I'm in last place. I did manage to get 6 minutes of flytime today on my Medallion .049. The third week of Sept may be my chance to put some decent airtime in. Ken

Re: Cox flight contest time log (Winners announced and prize pics)
One 4 minute flight at the church for a contest total of 40 minutes.
Last week I was happy to see tree trimmers working over there. But they just cleaned out underneath the oaks and left the outer overhang. What a rip.

I am sitting on a grand total of eight minutes forty five seconds. BUT, I am throwing together a quick and dirty Skyray build to hang my contest engine on. Should be in the air next week.

Aug
Total 1:34:27
Flights 25
Average flight time 2.544399 minutes
Longest flight 0:11:57
Shortest flight 0:00:01.
This month was not a good month - I was expecting hours and hours. More in my "progress" posting. Although I clocked over one and a half hours - I spent about 4 hours doing it!

Re: Cox flight contest time log (Winners announced and prize pics)
August was a Control Line month, and the Contest Engine did not see much action.
Total for August: 1 hour, 21 minutes, 52 seconds.
Contest Total: 8 hours, 38 minutes, 51 seconds.
When I get satisfied with the Control Line issues, I will dedicate more time to the competition, like I should be. Now, I started building a foam board stunt plane for 1/2A. We'll see how that works.
Good luck to everyone!
GUS.

Ron-I found the time list I was looking for with my times from July, when I met "fill in the blank" Mark. Can I still post them and count them?

Yes,
In the end of this contest I will solicit final times from all contestants. This thread is more for awareness, that way you can see where you stand.

Sweet, thanks Ron. I knew I had written some times down somewhere. I didn't think about looking in the truck from when we were in Portland.

Re: Cox flight contest time log (Winners announced and prize pics)
Three flights totaled 12 minutes in the air today for a contest total of 52 minutes. I put over an ounce in the bladder for each flight. The Tee Dee .051 is running fine, and the exhaust is clear pink. The old Baby Streak isn't flying as good as it used to, not keeping the lines tight like it should.
I looked back at my posts and there has to be a mistake in my August 8 fuel amount. No way it was a third of an ounce, I apparently meant a third of my syringe, which is 1 ounce.

Re: Cox flight contest time log (Winners announced and prize pics)
I juiced it good Tuesday, about an ounce and a half. I forgot to time it, but I'm thinking 5 minutes is reasonable. Twice. I guess Wayne's 2 minute flight doesn't count.
So, on Tuesday, September 24th add 10 minutes for a total of 62 minutes. Wow, I broke one hour!
