I think it is one of those Mysteries of the Universe, like why there is more matter than anti-matter.

Maybe they naturally run faster in RH operation.

Back when model engines were new, the most popular engines turned CCW. Prop manufacturers thus mostly made CCW props.

Unless you produced such a good engine that people would carve their own props (some did), you made it run CCW.

One spark engine (GHQ) got a very bad rep for not running. It was setup to run CW. Note that I read this, GHQ was even before my time. :-)

As flying CCW in the circle became the standard (more or less), some folks who flew racing events used reverse pitch props to counteract torque and prevent the plane turning in on them.

For CL stunt flying, it doesn't matter because if it helps you upright, it will work against you when inverted. other methods are used to trim the plane to fly the same upright and inverted.

Many do not turn the rudder these days because it can induce yaw that hinders as much as helps.

The reason why the majority of model engines rotate anti-clockwise is simple, the majority of people are right-handed, and it is much more natural for a right-handed person to flick the prop from right to left. If you don't believe me, and you are right-handed, try flicking a prop left to right!
