I flew to the "Land of the Midnight Sun" last week and was thrilled to stand in front of the world's biggest weather vane

They could run electricity to it, and I'd pay to use it as a Bed & Breakfast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That would get the pilots "up in the air", as the weather vane is actually being used by pilots departing and landing at the airport, as it is a fully-functioning instrument

That's amazing. They must have some sort of low friction device that that plyon is sitting on. I would love to sit in the left-hand seat and play pilot during a hurricane. 
I don't know if anyone here watches "Air Diasters" on the Smithsonion channel, but that is one heck of a show.
