David, well no, I have never used the variable pitch propeller and make a model airplane roll backwards.
This model that you see in my hands weighs 140 grams complete (in flight order) that is, with built-in battery.
These photos are from the web, they correspond to the type of variable pitch propellers that you mention.

Re: Cox Fun Model .049 ... flight, flight and flight!!! (page 3 & 5)
To minimize vibrations, I have manufactured a self-adjusting cone, which has a separate 1/8 inch steel stud, this is much more effective than the long screw and the previous cone.
The operating results are really very good!
balancing a propeller correctly is meticulous work, but it must be done if you want really good results!

Great flying and great work, love that spinner!
Also impressive performance from a single bypass cylinder. Great Job!

Thanks Cribbs74, I have also made the adjustment wrench with a 1/2 inch tube, to which I have turned its general diameter to reduce the volume of said tube and not be grotesque. I have formed the T with 4 millimeter diameter steel, (it is what is used for landing gears of models from .40 onwards.

Re: Cox Fun Model .049 ... flight, flight and flight!!! (page 3 & 5)
Well, as I had mentioned, the Cox Fun Model can have different motors for fun, by the way the Cox Babe Bee with a single transfer is great and I have only removed it to make room for the .049 medallion and thus check how the model behaves in flight.
The difference in revolutions between the Cox .049 Babe Bee and the Cox Medallion .049, is 4320 more in favor of the medallion, that is:
Cox Babe Bee .049 (1 tranfer = 16000 rpm)
Cox Medallion .049 (2 tranfer = 20320 rpm)
Both tests with APC 5x3 propeller
We will see what results in flight! ...

Very nice Mauricio!
I have been preaching bullet spinners for quite a few years.
Note you can source hex cup point studs for 020/.049/.09/.15 engines.
Great to remove the stud if it gets jammed into the crank.
Note the black oxide bolts fill the threads better with less slop.
i received 2 of these custom made .15 bullet spinners the other week.
Perfect dia. for the modern APC prop hubs / 7x6 shown with a TD .15

Re: Cox Fun Model .049 ... flight, flight and flight!!! (page 3 & 5)
Thank you very much dear friend! ... you know, it is somehow difficult to understand how it is that here where I live they do not exist and some things are not manufactured and it only goes through cultural loss ... a society that is not educated, no It grows and unfortunately this is happening to us, over the years we are where we are ... that's why many pieces or many works, and even some ideas, arise from all that is missing ... some of us do everything what we can and is within our reach ... anyway ... Thanks again Brad.
Returning to the subject of the .049 Medallion, I have not yet gone to fly and test, but I am sure that it is too much power and that it is not the end of the purpose of the flight of this model, I am going to do the test just to see how it goes, but I'm pretty sure I'll put the Babe Bee .049 back in ... it's the engine and model that make a great team!

Re: Cox Fun Model .049 ... flight, flight and flight!!! (page 3 & 5)
very happy to share this beautiful gift!
It is a mug that is engraved in various colors with one of the characters from our beloved now-defunct magazine, LUPIN.
That magazine accompanied many of us, educated us, taught us from childhood the magic of having fun learning.
Being able to learn, capturing the attention of a child, is not an easy task and all the people who made LUPIN magazine did it.
I will always be grateful for such a valuable cultural contribution to many generations of children.
Diego, thank you very much for this gift and Luis, I really appreciate the idea of your creation.
Thank you!!

Thanks!!
Dear Mauricio, you have done a great job, as you have us used to. When I saw your new handcrafted cones, I was really in awe, and I was proud to wear one of those on my new, next model. A big hug, and keep teaching us, thank you !!

As Mauricio mentioned, that magazine has marked our childhood by fire and was responsible for many of us having started our lives dedicated to this wonderful hobby.
As soon as I knew that Luis was making them, I reserved one for my son, one for you and another for me, with different characters from those comics. Enjoy it a lot, fill them with coffee, so that you stay awake, creating your great works every day!

Mauricio, he leído tu mensaje en español para Diego y Luis, eso fue muy pensativo y bueno. La taza es muy hermosa también. I read your Spanish message to Diego and Luis, that was very thoughtful and nice. The cup is very beautiful, too. Do they visit this forum?
Through research I found it interesting that Lúpin es un argot (slang), or as we say here in US among the Latinos, "Spanglish" for "looping". A little further research, I found that the magazine was first published a month before my 12th birthday. Someone has scanned the magazine collection into PDF. To make a long story short, I found the Lúpin download archive at:
https://mega.nz/folder/bppDCT7S#m5IkxRCzZPXzCo-L1L1PCg
Since the files are quite large, I downloaded the technical for now, wow, what a wealth of useful knowledge, electronics theory and circuits, and etc.
The following is from Page 7 of the Technical Supplement, an article on creating a 3 transistor AM broadcast band radio from scratch. I used to make such when my father was the electric shop teacher at my high school in Hawaii back in 1970.
I am impressed with the graphics of the magazine cover. It is very colorful, very much like the Japanese boys magazines that my mother's brother would send to us when I was just a child in US. I didn't learn to read the Japanese, but they had also building articles and interesting cartoons. It is a throwback to my past upbringing. I used to build the tissue covered bamboo framed ROG stick rubber band models that my uncle would send from Japan.
One of those models is the only tow line glider I have, a 24" wingspan called the Swan. I scanned and forwarded for posting on Outerzone 8 years ago.

Thanks, Mauricio on the wealth of sharing modeling sources as well as your experiences from Argentina. - George
