Cox Red Baron Mustang Restomod
Here is the finish of my Cox Red Baron “restomod”. All it needs is clear over the decals from Draw decals. I used a Miss America wing and landing gear to make the finished object more like the version in the dealer sheet. The only original Cox decals are the tail numbers. The prop is Wenmac and I took out the spring starter to close the gap behind the spinner. The Red Baron parts came from two eBay lots and are not airworthy. NIB examples are pricey at this point.
The Draw Decals are amazing and go on easily. The instructions say to soak for 20 seconds but I advise 10 seconds as I experienced float off at 12 to 15 seconds. Slide off the backing as close to the final placement as possible. My top wing positioning replicates the model and not the real plane. There were no underwing graphics on the toy.
The slow buildup can be seen at projectlilstinker.blogspot.com or projectlilstinker on Instagram.
Special thanks to Greg Drawbaugh and Draw Decals.
