What on ebay? Having trouble connecting the dots.
How about a site link would help understand what's going on.

Maybe he’s a former Cox employee that helped “recycle” the barrels of customer return engines.
I think I bought from him too in the past.

R/C Bee throttle muffler and head to take a heat sink. V-grooved drive plate makes me think belt starter, so maybe from a boat??

Just when I thought I knew everything Cox made, up pop’s something l’d not run into before....
The glow head and prop drive plate are different but who knows what modifications were made during production. The cooling head would make sense.

Re: Ever wonder when the Red Baron will run out of engines..............
Thank you rsv1cox for the link to the Red-Baron2
I just bought this from him:
ORDER TOTAL
US $57.98
https://www.ebay.com/itm/COX-TEE-DEE-TD-051-MODEL-AIRPLANE-ENGINE-WITH-SPINNER-AND-NEW-PROPELLER/323840139559?hash=item4b66606127:g:ulgAAOSwQsZdDPSV
He was wise to show the piston to prove it was a .051.
Top tip:
What really had be buying the engine was the cylinder orientation. Fuel / air mix flows up the sides faster when
the cylinder is arranged with the exhaust ports fore and aft. It gives the engine a boost in rpm. The engine tech
guys back in the day at the Cox plant would set up customer engines this way when rebuilding them for performance.
You can get 800 + rpm boost is what I was told by one of the engine techs. He has posted on the RCU forums in
the past is how I know him.

Re: Ever wonder when the Red Baron will run out of engines..............
Here I will share one...
Good prices from this guy cause he doesn't know what they are worth:
Also bought this real Killer Bee .049 for $65 shipped from (mr.customerservice)
Looks like he does estate sales.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vtg-New-Old-Stock-COX-Killer-Bee-049-Airplane-engine-NIB-Nice/312674655842?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649
Top tip:
If it does not have this address on the back she no real.
Note the wider exhaust slit below the top slit that and nyrod was used back then.
It's in the mail the cylinder will be removed to check for a light weight piston and polished cylinder walls and
high performance crank.
Finding these new in the box is getting slim on the chances, still with some patience plenty of collectors have hoarded them.
I plan to run the snot out of it in a "Reed Speed Plane" as I have no love for dusty never ran engines.

Re: Ever wonder when the Red Baron will run out of engines..............
Happy to help Brad.
As you can see he has a lot of aviation related items. You just have to scroll through to get to the engines. I looked at that Killer Bee but I already have one, bought new sometime back in the good old days. But yours has that neat anodized case that mine lacks. Newer or later versions perhaps.

Re: Ever wonder when the Red Baron will run out of engines..............
The first run of Killer Bee engines did have a different NV.
Yes he does I will check out his sale items from time to time.
Have you investigated inside the engine?
- Polished cylinder wall should have a mirror finish
- Inside of the piston skirt should have a milled off area for lower weight
- Crank flywheel shape is not round and hole in crank pin
Estes starting slapping them together with non anodized parts
other NV stems, no cylinder wall polishing, no piston matching and
no low weight piston. Big drop in rpm after that.
They had plenty of boxes left, high performance cranks, backplates
prop plates / washers and unpolished cylinders so kept selling them as Killer Bees.
Tracking shows mine has made it into town should be in the mail box Fri.
I will be cracking it open for a review / fingers crossed it's real. I have
a real one / static hit 25,516 rpm with a 4x4.5

The factory ties haven't been bothered Brad. Same as it left Cox many years ago.
Good luck with yours and I'm looking forward to your tests.

Re: Ever wonder when the Red Baron will run out of engines..............
Thank you Bob, got lucky it's the real dill pickle. Build date June 3, 1997
Copper coated on the inside of the low weight piston, 2.7g vs more typical 3.2g.
Polished cylinder walls to a mirror finish with boost flute. High performance crank.
128 TPI needle. Shocking to find one so cheap $65 shipped new in the box. 22 yrs. old.
