Cox Engine of The Month
My TeeDee .051
My TeeDee .051
Hi,
I'd like to show you the movie I made today from staring my first Cox engine - Tee Dee .051
I've renovated the engine a I've little cleaned. I made a needle spring from the office clip. In the previous film it was from a can but it didn't work out and the needle was unscrewing. As a result, I couldn't adjust the engine properly and it only reached 17,000 RPM. Plus, I fired it with 5% nitro fuel.
Now on better test stand, with 20% nitro fuel and a new "spring", it reaches out 21 000 RPM (0.117 HP 86W)
You can view all photos from renovation in this album https://flic.kr/s/aHsmvTLKXz

As an alternate to the spring tab, you may also pull a silicon tube over the golden carb nipple and the stem of needle valve, that will not only withhold it from resetting itself during engine run, but also seal against possible air in-leakage that often plagues TD-s after some extended time of operation.

When I got the engine, washer wasn't there. But thrust washer is currently mounted. Though you can't see it in the pictures .
But thanks for noticing

4.5 turns..but go to "Instruction sheets" on the left of this page, and in the table top section you will find a full manual for the TeeDee051 that is downloadable..

Re: My TeeDee .051
By wanting to help this fellow CEF member, I was the one who wrote "table top section"....not table top, but sorry for my Hunglish, my apologies for my dumb self wanting to help .. I thought that labourosly though, but it was decipherable for native speakers...my very old school breeding often drives me to say a shy "thank you", when I am the one who gets help, I hope this is not another strange expression that I need to explain further, but if in doubts, one may refer to letter "t" in the Concise Dictionary of Contemporary English to look it up, for a more authentic lingustic interpretation and use of this term of gratitude, than mine, if his likewise old school breeding gives him any motive to use this expression at all..

Awesome, she is really singing great! I recognize the engine test tree from some of your other videos I have seen. Like like a great spot to burn some nitro methonal.
