TeeDee 010 WOW
The replacement crank for my TD 010 arrived in the post today. Thankyou Ex Model Engines for being so quick. Now instaled in engine and WOW. Having never owned one before, it's an absolute gem. It starts first couple of flicks, and my god, does it scream or what. I'm glad I've ordered a tacho to play with, I need to see the RPM. Well done Cox for a mighty engine. I'm one happy bunny today

One that starts with a few flips...
That is a nice one. 4 hours and a spring yielded only 30 seconds of run time for me.

Fun arent they i remember my first one, back in 1992, my dad got it for me for christmas, i dont know where he found it, but that was an awesome day.
Remember when we first fired it up.. having experience with 049's only at that time... i remember saying.. yelling.. how can something so small make so much noise

As life has taught me, never underestimate the small ones. It'll always be the cute ones that will get you in the end. I love my .01

try the old fuel line on the needle trick, some of the newer black tanked engines are a little leaky

Try the gentle application of a 1/2A electric starter.

Matt,
Did you ever tear it down and see if it was drilled?

It was. I plugged the nipple; that's what got it to run for 30 seconds rather than 5.
Re: TeeDee 010 WOW
Check for air leaks elsewhere. Also make sure the repair stuck.
Also if you want to send it to me to mess with I will. I will pay return shipping.
The crankcase may be drawing air in around the carb body since you didn't plug the crankcase......
